An Open Letter To Mall Group And All Other Shopping Centers

Featured Replies

Dear The Mall Group,

As I am sure you are aware, due to escalating uncertainty in the Middle East, the cost of oil has been steadily appreciating since the beginning of 2011 and has already surpassed one-hundred and six United States dollars per barrel. In correlation to this fact, it has been my observation that there are more and more Window Shoppers taking advantage of the free air conditioning that your company so generously provides to all of your shoppers. These Window Shoppers very rarely venture pass the Food Court and spend most of their time entertaining themselves by going up and down the various escalators that you also so generously provide free of charge. This is troublesome to me for following reasons:

1. We Real Shoppers, who spend millions of baht a year each in your stores are now being exposed to dangerous and potentially fatal germs. Most of these Window Shopping free loaders do not follow general personal hygiene and can often be seen coughing and sneezing with total disregard towards the fact that a Real Shopper has already booked a non-refundable first class ticket and does not intend to get sick. Furthermore, the surging number of farang residents adds to this problem as they are often accompanied to the Food Court by a wide range of their spouse's extended family which have traveled from some far flung corner of Thailand where they more than likely tend to some form of livestock. I don't think that I need to remind you that this was exactly how the SARS Virus spread to Hong Kong from Mainland China.

2. Females friends and acquaintances have complained of having to queue up to use your bathrooms.

3. Personally, I have found that the air temperature is not cold enough undoubtedly due to the surging number of Window Shoppers.

My advice to you is to create a system in which customers much pay a refundable admission fee of two hundred baht for Thais and five hundred baht for Foreigners. If they spend in excess of this amount, it is refunded to them. That said, I would be completely fine with a policy that allows female University students to enter free of charge. These girls should be allowed to Window Shop as they add value to the shopping experience. You might even consider providing those of them who are particularly pretty with some kind of drink voucher.

I trust that you will do what is right.

Sincerely,

A Real Shopper

coming from the guy who flights economy :D You love to portrait yourself as wealthy :D Just an other cue jumper yourself by your own admission :D

I flights everything from economy to business to first class depending on the Airline and destination. Don't hijack the OP. PS: Leave the queue jumping to trained professionals.

Obviously belongs in the pub or closed .........

Umm...interesting tho.

Why not forward this to the Mall Group directly?

Can leave an envelope with these interesting advices inside at the malls' conceige counters.

I will look forward to see how malls' management will manage with this :)

Irony/sarcasm is lost on some people . . . lol

Be careful or else the OP guy will whack you in the head with one of those gold ingots he always carries around with him lest the world's economy should collapse while he's out shopping his 500 baht's worth.

An entrance fee for a retail establishment? Sounds like winner. Amazing someone hasn't thought of it before? The OP must be some sort of genuis? (although not sure what kind exactly)

Or was this some sort of moronic "notthenation" attempt at humor?

Please feel free not to clarify.

I guess the OP wasn't quite able to get down to your level. We all do our best, but sadly, I fear your comments are too deep even for me.

Has anyone else been stopped at Central by the questionnaire ladies?

On the questionnaire it asks:

- Which of these factors under the influence [sic] of your decision to come to Central Shopping Centre:

- Dress code

- Free entry

- Public healthiness

- Convenience of conveniences

- Air conditioning

- Free drinks for students scheme.

I think the OP has achieved his little bit for customer responsiveness

SC I was about to applaud your droll, ironic humour when a cold thought clutched my entrails as I looked again at that [sic]...................
