Hey all.

Since the LG Optimus 2x is available in shops in more and more countries world wide, i have to ask if someone have seen this phone available somewhere in Thailand/Bangkok allready?

Was at MBK a couple of weeks ago hoping that some vendor would have imported some Korean versions but didnt see any.

Im itching to buy a new phone, and i guess the Optimus will be it since it is released first of the next gen dualcore phones, a bit miffed about the 512MB RAM, was hoping for 1GB.

I would rather like to buy the Samsung Galaxy S2, but i feel i cannot wait another 2-3 months for it.

If anyone spots the LG Optimus 2x somewhere in Bangkok, please dont hesitate to post where you saw it in this thread.

Thank you.

I didn't see optimus 2x in MBK nor panthip. When it become available (if not anytime soon), iPhone 5 with A5 cpu can be considered in this summer.

I really dont want an Iphone, want to give Android a try, but i think Thailand aint a priority market for these new phones so i guess we have to wait a long time still, perhaps the Samsung SGS 2 will beat the LG optimus 2x to the Thai market.

Thanks for the heads up on MBK and Panthip tough.

I am under the impression this phone will be available in April/May, perhaps with T-Mo in the U.S. I expect it will become available here June/July.

WoW, June/July is way to late, in that case i will pick up the new Samsung phone when im back in Sweden in the end of June.

A bit silly since the LG 2x is allready out in Europe.

It's just my best guess. Most products need to be localized: software, packaging, manuals, local staff trained, and the list goes on. All of this probably takes some extra time here in Thailand?

Where is this model available in Europe? It seems like availability has been delayed at least until this month, and most people are complaining, like you, about the delays. It is available for pre-order in some European countries.

All the specs I've seen show 900/2100 Mhz 3G radio so I doubt True will be the local launch partner, and AIS will likely launch the Samsung Galaxy S2. That means no one, other than the LG subsidiary, is pushing this model. TOT and/or their MVNOs have limited market access but maybe one or more will team up and launch this model. Without 3G, a phone like this would be a bit like having a Ferrari in Hong Kong. Pricing will be interesting, although at the high end of the market, pricing here in Thailand is less important that style, buzz and perceived luxury factor.
