Curious About A School

Featured Replies

I have a quick question that I'm hoping that someone can help me with . Recently, I found a job posting that looked interesting and as I really need a job with more hours (and I now have the free time that I didn't before), I'm thinking about checking it out. Only, I know this school was hiring for the same position just last year. Now, I'm not sure why; was it an issue with the teachers or the school? I looked, and can't find anything on-line. So my question is, does anyone know anything about Doi Saket Wittayakom School ?

I'm not asking for any dirty details (if there actually are any ...) but rather I'd like to know if I might be walking into a situation that may require some, uh .. delicate handling or any special skills.

I've been in a teaching situation like that before, and while I still would have taken the job had I known beforehand (beggars can't be choosers after all) it would have been nice to have been pre-warned that my future boss was, uh .. somewhat cranky and difficult. The same situation applies here; I'd like to know beforehand.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help or advice anyone can provide.

Some schools just like to change teachers every year, that way they save money by not paying anyone for April and half of May and by not having to give the teacher a raise. Also some schools seem to go strictly by student evaluations, which of course if you try to instill any discipline will usually be low, after all most Thai schools are about having fun not learning.
