I have a Nokia 5800, and a DTAC SIM.

How can I use internet with them? And how do I know what connection 3G, EDGE I get?

I think I need to set up an "Access point" but no idea how to do that.

Thanks

If all you want is internet access just go into APN settings and create a new entry. Just name it "DTAC Internet" and set APN to "internet". Leave everything else blank and save it and activate it. The other settings the phone will get automatically when it connects to the internet. In most of Thailand you can only get Edge service with DTAC. The phone automatically connects to the fastest connection available for your device.

Everywhere on the DTAC website they say to use www.dtac.co.th for the APN (no username, no password) (true and AIS both use "internet" so maybe that's why jackbox is confused?

You can also send a service message, enter *772*9# SEND/DIAL, then you should get two service messages back, one for MMS and one for GPRS, open/save/install and these will add the proper settings.

from DTAC's website:

The problems found.

Can not use the Internet.

Cause

You have not already open or open setting data or GPRS.

How to fix the problem.

Opening the GPRS Settings -> cellular -> Data connection -> On.

You set the APN is incorrect.

How to fix the problem.

The APN settings by going to Settings -> cellular -> Data connection -> add apn -> then enter the value into the box www.dtac.co.th APN.
