Condo/apt For Aroud 5,000-9,000?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was looking for a condo for around 5,000 - 9000 per month in Pattaya. Im not too fussy as long as it has air conditioning but the most important thing is that the condo has broadband access. I want to move for around 2-3 months and if i can get broadband access sorted quickly i might be able to prolong my stay because i can do some freelance web design and earn some money. The only thing is id prefer not to have to wait too long to have the internet access installed because the longer i leave it the less i can earn. Would broadband take long to get installed or does anyone know of condos that have them pre installed. I would be willing to put up with unreliable access as long as its not on a regular basis.

Lastly, i dont want to live cheap but i dont mind drinking local beer in Thai bars to save money and dont mind eating from stalls. With that in mind what do you think i should be prepared to spend per month not including the condo on food and living. I will be living with a thai girl maybe going for a few pints every weekend and maybe the odd time during the week, eating from noodles stalls mostly but from reasonably priced retaurants also and doing any travelling by bus. Other than that i wont be spending a whole lot, just planning to stretch my money out as long as possible while having a good time.

So to summarise my questions:

1) Whats the chances of a condo for around the 4,000 - 7,000?

2) Whats the average rates for electricity for an a/c condo?

3) What can i expect to pay for broadband?

4) What can i expect to pay for living costs for a thai girl and myself per month, based on a quiet lifestyle and she's not high maintenance?

Hope people from Pattaya can share their views. I plan to go there in January

Why the cross-posting to Phuket, Pattaya and Hua Hin? It makes things confusing to some of us. :o Just testing the waters for each locale and haven't decided where to settle?

Ahhh, just realized - you're looking for someplace with a beach front.

1)Chances are good for a single room in this price range, from personal experience View talay Condo 1 is pretty good.

2)Average elec water is about 2000b per month with aircon maybe more.

3) Broadband through TOT in View Talay is 1000b per month 1meg connection, youll need to pay out to get a phoneline installed unless there is one already this is about 5000b one off and can be done pretty quick. You need to go with the condo owner to the TOT office to sign for it.

Broadband for me was installed within 24hrs once youve paid up at the office its switched on within a couple of days.

Theres plenty of cheap stalls and cafes here for pork and rice basic dishes probably 35-70b per meal

You could probably live pretty easily on 40-50,000 baht per month so long as your not hammering it at the bars. :o

Yes, i havent yet decided and i taught posting them i one forum asking about 3-4 places would give a confusing response. This should work out helpful to others because the thread will prove useful for people looking for condos in those areas. A thread with info on condos for 3 or 4 different locations in the one thread might be a bit confusing and besides ill probably get more detailed info for each place doing it this way. Hope this is ok and not too confusing?

No problem and reasonable idea. I finally figured out what you were upto when I read all three topics. :D

i like paragraph 4 shes not high maintenance , another first ,

You dont seem to have a lot of experence with women , shes not high maintenance i have nearly fell off my seat laughing , i have never met a women who is not high mainteance , keep them comming Paddy

Check around Soi Day-Night. You'll find places around 5,000B/month with A/C.

Also, check Soi 10, close to Beach Rd--Sawadee Hotel. The older wing of the hotel has rooms, with a/c, for around 6-8,000/month
