Perhaps someone was just having a joke, and someone took it the wrong way??

Difficult to find pinball machines in Thailand, the authorities will tend to associate them with gambling, which is illegal. Same applies for factory made football (soccer) tables, once I spent a whole day in Bangkok fruitlessly trying to get one.

The bowling alley in Soi Bowling (Rock & Bowl?) used to have them - someone can advise if they still do (I haven't been in there for years).
