Hi all,

I'm currently on an ED visa due to expire on June 6th.

I'll be leaving Thailand to return to the UK on the 27th May (for the last time, so no worry about that).

However, I've got at least 2 or 3 trips out of the country before then - to Singapore in a few days, and then somewhere else (tbd!) in May.

Do I need to get a multi entry permit on my visa? Or can I just rely on getting the tourist exemption stamps every time I come back from now on?

Is there al imit to how many?

(example:

*leave to SG, come back on 23rd get 30 days until ~23/5.

*leave to random country sometime in June, get another 30 days

* leave to another country sometime in June, get another 30 days).

Is that possible, or would it be too many consecutive stamps? If so I'll just get the re-entry permit, but I'd like to save the money if possible :).

Thanks!

EDIT: final question - I've heard Suvarnabhumi now has a desk for the re-entry permits? Can that save me a trip to Chaengwattana?

There is no limit on visa exempt entry so if you are sure about departing it should work for you (although airline could require proof of onward travel within 30 days). If any chance of plans changing and longer stay would think re-entry permit better. There is a desk at airport operating 0600-2400.

Hi,

Thanks for info. How quick/long is it to get a visa at the checkpoint at the airport? Our flight is at 1040am (weekday).

Thanks much,

Rik.

I suspect you are asking about re-entry permit as you do not obtain visas at the airport if from a visa exempt country. Have seen a report of 10 minutes but it could always be more if a queue forms.

Hi,

Sorry - yes of course I meant the re-entry, stupid typo :).

In the end I decided just to go to Chaengwattana today and get the permit there. Saves the worry on the day at the airport :)

Thanks for your help anyway!

Cheers.

I fail to understand what your final departure date of the 27th of May is in relation to a further 90 days stay commencing in the latter part of June!

*leave to SG, come back on 23rd get 30 days until ~23/5. - This can be understood

*leave to random country sometime in June, get another 30 days - If you are leaving in sometime in June then by your own dates above you will be on overstay

* leave to another country sometime in June, get another 30 days). - Surely this is the same as the previous point?

Your post is confusing.
