Work Permit And Visa Cancellation

Good day everyone! Can someone please give me an exact and updated rule about leaving Thailand after the cancellation of visa and work permit? I understand that once the work permit is cancelled the visa goes along with it as well..My problem is this: My last day of work will be on the 31st of May and the school will be cancelling my work permit and visa on the same day. Can I leave Thailand the next day without paying any overstay fee? I am really getting confused about this matter..please help me..Many thanks!

Or you could get a 7 day extension at your local immigration office.

Also is your visa an extension of stay from a local immigration office, or a full visa issued from an embassy or consulate outside of Thailand? If the latter then it will not be cancelled with your work permit - lots of confusion over this.

Airport never charges one day - land border might charge 500 baht but have not seen any reports.
