Hello. I have an issue and I am little concerned about my fate here!

I am here on a double entry TV. I am stamped in until the 25th (tomorrow). Usually at this point I would have to do a border bounce so I would then begin using the second entry part of the TV granting me another 60 days. At the end of the second 60 days I can then get an extension for 30 days at immigration if I wish. So, standard stuff.

My problem is this:

My UK passport is a temporary ‘Emergency Passport’ which was only valid for one trip – from the USA (where I was on holiday/business and damaged my passport) to Thailand. It’s a ‘one journey only’ type passport. It’s perfectly valid and was valid on point of entry for 6 months.

I can’t do a border bounce as my passport is not valid to leave to another country. The first page says in bold font “Valid for one single Journey to Thailand on dd/mm/yyy. So my only option is to apply for the 30 day extension at immigration.

Of course no one can say for sure but will they grant me this 30 day extension for the FIRST part of my TV entry (it’s a double entry) or will they insist I leave the country to do a border bounce? I was under the impression that they only grant a 30 day extension once you have used both entries? This has only just this second dawned on me…..

I don’t care if they give me the 30 days and cancel the 2nd part of my entry making the TV now ‘used’. Would that be likely?

How do you guys see this playing out?

I have this awful scenario playing out in my mind of the immigration official in Hua HIn saying no and then turfing me out. I would then be in Thailand with a week or two overstay looming ahead of me while I await my new passport.

By the way, my application for a 48 page UK passport is currently at the British Embassy in Hong Kong. I noticed they took 8500 Baht from my debit card a week ago so I am assuming I will have it soon.

Thanks

No problem. You can obtain a 30 day extension of stay and if you get your passport before the two entry visa expiration date you can show both on return to use the second entry in your new passport. You can always obtain extension of stay for any 60 day tourist visa entry.
