Osama Bin Laden dead - USA has his body

BREAKING WIND:

An anonymous source just quoted MSNBC as reporting that CNN was told that Fox news just released a statement from Al Qaeda revealing that the BBC has nothing further to say on the matter until everybody gets their stories in sync.

In other news, an Indian fishing trawler claims to have snagged a body wrapped in an American flag and are demanding a $100 ransom.

Another unamed White House official said, "we don't negotiate with fishermen." Five battleships and a Starkist Tuna boat are enroute to engage the fishing trawler with "all we've got."

Touche Robert! Since this story broke from MSNBC I think that the Indians not only demanded $100 ransom but also a certified copy of Obamas birth certificate

All you have done is belittle and demean anyone who dares to profess a belief that bin Laden was killed last week by the SEALs.

Hmmm, I reread my last post #852 and the ones before that, #837 and #843 , and I can not see, by any stretch of the imagination where I was belittling or demeaning. Not that I wasn't tempted.

Goodnight. Sleep tight. Your government is protecting you 24/7.

So you wrote none of this, or you think none if it is demeaning?

Hmm, perhaps in addition to comfort zones, sheeple just find it effortless to believe the press and post silly photos, whereas it would take mental effort to compose a logical rebuttal.

I remember when Logic classes were offered in high schools in the States. Until the 70's. Then they disappeared.

I always wondered why this was.

Kudos to the minority of posters on this thread who employed critical thinking, rather than criticizing thinking. You have a valuable gift that is worthy to be passed on to future generations.

As for the majority of posters who founded their conclusions on emotions, and on the "infallible" words of governments and news agencies, you will pass on a gift to the next generation that has great power.

But power for whom?

Basing one's argument on unverfied, even unverifiable statements, is like building a house foundation on a refuse dump site. It stinks from the start and, as the refuse rots away, the house will eventually collapse.

Arguments that are founded on assumptions, usually progress to extrapolation and conjecture, and will have conclusions astronomically far from reality.

Pass that on to your kids, fellas.

How sad that people can not think for themselves.

But the sheeple absolutely refuse to say, I don't know for sure. Isn't that odd?

It used to baffle me, but I have concluded that believing your government lies to you, maybe (and that is a definite maybe for me) even attacks its own citizens, well, that takes people out of their comfort zone. No one wants to believe the officials they put into office are lying to them, spending their tax money wrongly, and even endangering them and their families. Because they then must admit they are powerless to do something about it.

I guess "sheeple isn't demeaning, though.

And don't forget:

You choose to believe second, third and fourth hand stories because that is as far as your intellect will allow you to go. It is also as far as your comfort zone will allow you to go.

You are not interested in the truth because it requires sacrifice and hard work

It looks like you might have gone back to edit that statement as I can't find it anymore, but it is on a quoted block of your text. You aimed that at me, by the way. And yes, by any "stretch of the imagination, I would call that demeaning.

Not only do you ignore additional evidence which might be throwing cold water on your previous assertions on government lying, but you try to stretch the truth. You know, just by continually asserting that your logic is perfect and all others is not does not make you correct.

Incredible that because of the US inability to get the story straight, unwillingness to release the photographs or video, history of Hollywood scripts (Pat Tillman/Jessica Lynch, Iraq invasion, Gulf of Tonkin "incident" et al) we had to wait for confirmation from a bunch of scumbags.

Peace be with you all :jap:

The invasion of Iraq was the most covered (both video and print) military incursion in the history of mankind so you are way off base on that one, as for your other examples I sadly agree with you, and as for the handling of the Bin Laden killing the White House (Obama) has screwed the pooch ever since the imprpomtu press conference on Sunday evening! Given the fact that gas at the pump in the U.S. has gone to over $4.00/gallon recently and Obama's approval rating dipped to just 42% last week(the lowest so far) this whole thing sure does smack of "wag the dog" :o If it were not for the fact that Al Kaeda came out yesterday and admitted that Bin Laden had been killed, I might find myself in the camp that this was just a staged event :whistling: I mean after 10 years the U.S. military finally catches up with its #1 high value terrorist target, and instead of capturing him and extracting intel they put two in an unarmed mans head? then instead of producing the body they bury it at sea?? then they fail to publish the photos saying that it is in the interest of national security??? If there was ever a real life script for "wag the dog" this sure fits the bill ;)

Perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly enough as regards Iraq. I meant to explain that the Hollywood touch comes from the creation of a reason to invade, not from the invasion itself. Apologies.

Regarding the other issues, I am pleased that you agree with me but like you, I am far from pleased with the way this episode has been handled.

A funny trend in the world I have noticed in the last ten years. People have become very aware of Polls and of media. they therefore have started completely lieing to the media when asked their opinions.

Of course the people in Pakistan know Osama is dead. They say they do not believe it when talking to western media to stick their feet up the arse of their enemy. Fair enough. But why is it that the media is so so stupid and keeps asking people stupid things?

Ask Blacks in America whether OJ killed his X wife? They all know he did it. But to the media they say he did not. They tell pollsters the same. But of course they tell their friend that he did it. They know it.

It is all political stuff and people play dirty when it comes to political stuff.

Pakistan of course looks very very stupid allowing America to fly a helicopter next to their military base. Its lands, the yanks kill Osama in 5 minutes, then have time, about 40 minutes more, to search the place and take anything they want for the CIA! meanwhile, the Paki army is sleeping less than 6 city blocks away. Then Pakis talk tuff and say you americans had better not do it again or else. Or else what? You want the Yanks to nuke you? You pakis are lucky that they did blow you up yet. India is still hoping though.

One other funny thing from the media.

They say the details of how the Yabks killed Osama matter.

But to an American, it just does not matter.

He is dead. That is good for them and that is the end of the story.

No trial needed for a combatant you know. It is war.

Someone who just wants to be diagreeable can be handled this way.

I sit next to a drunken fool who says America did not land men on the moon.

I simply agree and say that America did not invade Iraq either. It is all a lie. the guy looks at me strange. I then go on to tell him America never nuked Japan either because it has no Nukes. It is all American propaganda.

The guy starts to get my game and gets angry. I then tell him the Germans never bombed London. It is propanganda.

Israel does not have nukes. It is all a lie.

Russia landed on the Moon first and is now on Mars--I start to laugh and by this time all the men around me are making up stupid statements.

If you really believe this stuff, go ahead but do not expect anyone else to.

Osama is swimming with the fish.

He seems to be missing part of his head though. Perhaps he has 72 virgins that can give him some head.

JOKE

...They shouldn't have told us what happened before the Seals where debriefed, otherwise it is just a guess and that is what has caused the confusion.

Agreed. Blame the clusterf___K on Obama. I don't mind, but Bin Ladin is still dead. ;)

Osama's death solved all problems. Americans are now able to pay their mortgages, no American will lose his home to some freaking bank, all those who are jobless will be back to work by the end of this month, the national debt has been reduced by 101%, Hispanics abandon all plans to enter the U.S. illegally because they fear the Navy Seals... did i forget something?

Well, US businesses added the most jobs in five years as the labor market continued to improve, according to the numbers released this week. The Canadian job market improved beyond expectations. Overall the North American economy is stabilizing and new energy exploration is underway in the USA's largest and most important energy supplier. The USA has an advantage that no other country has: It has access to secure Mexican and Canadian energy. It also doesn't have to worry about hostile enemies on its borders. Fending off illegals from the Mexican border is hardly something that will keep Edna Hochsteter of Milwaukee awake at night.

You did forget something. In contrast to the EU which has a big heavy weight around its neck courtesy of the PIGS and a shakey energy supply with countries like Germany dependent upon Russian kindness for their natural gas, the USA is probably in the best position possible to take on economic hardship..Toss in the shrinking water resources and worries of food supplies around the world and North America, as one of the largest food exporters in the world is in a good position. The USA is down, but not out. It's the only country in the world that has a diversified natural resource base to draw upon. Osama couldn't make the USA crumble and he couldn't blakmail the Americans as he had done the Continental Europeans. It's the Germans, Spanish, Italians and French that paid all those ransoms, not the English and not the Americans. Disposing of Osama sent a message to terrorists, that sooner or later they would get caught.

The only thing Obama is guilty of is desimanating the information too quickly. As stated previously it takes time to debrief. Even when you debrief you have to piece all the info together since not all personell see the same thing or even interpret it as the same if they do see the same thing. Not sure why all these people felt the need to come on TV and make announcements. I believe there is only person who should have made the announcement and that should have been our president when all the facts of the case are laid out. Seems to me he did just that. The first stories were much better propoganda for the world to hear, but no. He went with what i believe is the truth even though it made his administration look terrible he , back tracked and said Osama was unarmed. I'm sorry but propaganda or misinformation is usually supposed to bring your point home or to at least make yourselves look better. Did this, absolutely not. They look like idiots but it was important for the truth to come out. Unarmed, not using women as human shields and the such. With all the conspiracy legumes out there why change the story. Because the president told them to quit coming up with BS which is the status quo in DC. This president has only been in office for a couple of years and is trying to be more honest and transparent in all things government. Cant change the system over night! I know its a hypothetical but what do you think baby Bush would have done. Well i tell you, he would have had Osama being taken out while strapped to a nuclear suicide vest thus saving the world! IMHFO!

You believe that two years into a presidency is not very long? When will BHO ever be responsible for his own presidency? He has accomplished much while in office, all leading to financial as well as a politically international disaster with the one exception of not standing in the way of the capture of BL. However, BHO was diametrically opposed to all of the policies put into place by the Busch administration that lead to BL being discovered, yet BHO took credit for it. Hypocrite doesn't even begin to describe this despicable excuse of a politician. The 40 minute service afforded the terrorist BL for the purpose of keeping fellow terrorists appeased was sick. BHO has refusal to release the photos of BL based upon his 'concern' regarding how our troops may be treated however he had no problem releasing photos taken at Abu Ghraib.

Transparency? You must be kidding. The article "Obama's Empty Transparency Rhetoric", noted "Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton, a frequent critic of Bush administration policies (it pushed for Bush visitor logs related to convicted felon Jack Abramoff), said the Obama administration had been even worse. "To be clear, the Obama administration is less transparent than the Bush administration," he said, noting that his group had filed more than 325 Freedom of Information Act requests, and some 45 FOIA lawsuits in federal court."

In American bureaucracy 2 years is nothing! (Love how critical the right winger are of his middle name, born in Kenya, huh?) Gorge Walker Bush, nope doesn't sound racist enough so will stick with Baby Bush. The economic situation was put in place by BUSH! Real estate market in toilet on Bushes watch just to begin with. Is that Obamas fault as well?

Owning up to ones actions/mistakes is a mark of a true leader. Yes we have made mistakes but correcting those mistakes is what is important. A comparison of naked prisoners photos to that of the world most wanted Muslim man with his head blowed apart not quite the same. Do we need to give them another reason, or if they kill many more Americans who takes the responsibility for the photos release. Ah i see, now! Two years seems like a long time when its about all other things but a relatively short period and thus requiring that Bush gets the kudos when it fits your cause. When the photos at Abu Ghraib were published it was by America. Not by any one else and it was to point out that yes we made a terrible mistake and those who were found to be the perpetrators were justifiably punished. As for your assertion that Bush was transparent. Come on now, where is his arrests for cocaine and DUI and the such. Must be nice to have your transparent Father be the director of th CIA which when i last checked was transparent, not so much. Still figuring out how he made it through Yale with such a low GPA and on to skull & bones which is the most secretive fraternal organization in the world.Oh yeah, Baby Bush had eight years in office, not enough time or too little which one fits your logic? In either case his command did not get him it was on Obamas watch and under his command. When will bush take responsibility for his presidency? He has not! WMD's, woopsie!

Oh for a return to those halcyon days of late 2008, when our financial industry was sound, the economy strong, the military at peace and the country universally respected around the world. If only we had Sarah Palin in the White House next to a 74-year old president, I could again sleep soundly. :cheesy:

I agree that OBL situation could have been handled better, but consider the incompetence that Obama is surrounded with. The CIA can't seem to do anything right and has little oversight. The military leaders look like the keystone cops so from where I sit he's doing alright.

Obama will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents ever. He has already done greator things in 2 years than FDR was able to do in 8 (with the help of WWII) He got OBL where bush failed. He is cleaning up the messes made by the republicans and when he gets done with that he's going to be reelected and do some more to restore America's status as a example to the rest of the world.

At this point he has little competition. As long as the right keeps putting forth morons like trump and palin he's a shoe-in.

I beleived in him when I froze my ass of knocking on doors in Iowa for him and I believe in him today. He hasn't done all the things that I want but he's doing enough. As long as he keeps putting helfire missiles up bad guys asses while continuing the withdrawel from Iraq he will easily be reelected.

All I can think of is that they wanted to beat say the Pakistanis to the draw on this, but how difficult would it have been to throughly debrief the players and get the ground truth, as much as can be gotten, that is, and brief the public with a more consistent version of events?

I clicked your link and read the article. I then voted on the infowars poll.

The question asked was this...."Did Obama really kill Osama Bin Laden".

I voted "no" since Obama didn't really kill anybody, much less OBL. A Seal killed OBL.

The votes were

1. No - 90% - 21,658

2. Yes - 10% - 2,443

Since the question was worded so poorly, are there that many people that really believe this nonsense or did some of them actually read and understand the words of the question?

This is a real junk site.

So because their poll was worded poorly that means it is a 'junk site'? Don't you find any of what was written mildy interesting/thought provoking/worrying?

Not really. I read the opinion piece, looked through the site and quickly determined it was a junk site coming up with conspiracies behind every decision anybody, besides themselves, had ever come up with.

But what really turned me off were comments such as these...

"It wasn’t bin Laden’s wife who was murdered by the Navy SEALs, but the wife of an aide. It wasn’t bin Laden’s son, Khalid, who was murdered by the Navy SEALs, but son Hamza."

or this...

"No explanation has been provided for why an unarmed bin Laden, in the absence of a firefight, was murdered by the SEALs with a shot to the head."

continuing on...

"Thanks to a trigger-happy stupid SEAL, a bullet destroyed the most valuable terrorist information on the planet. Perhaps the SEAL was thinking that he could put a notch on his gun and brag for the rest of his life about being the macho tough guy who killed Osama bin Laden, the most dangerous man on the planet, who outwitted the US and its European and Israeli allies and inflicted humiliation on the “world’s only superpower” on 9/11."

After savaging the SEALs, who were simply following orders issued by the Comander in Chief, the author then tries to dream up all these agendas that motivated Obama's group to do the dirty deed.

I am no fan of the Obama administration and that is where the real fault with all this lies. The administration didn't have their collective thought processes clearly defined (not the first time this has happened, I might add) and came out with all this bogus action filled movie hero crap to make Obama seem larger than life. It seems to have backfired on them, making them seem even more incompetent than they usually appear.

This action wasn't "murder" despite Dr. Robert's cheap use of the word. It was a military raid to take out or capture the most wanted man in the world. For whatever reason (I wasn't there and neither was Dr. Roberts) the SEAL in point felt himself at risk and took out Osama. For the author to appoint himself judge and jury in this case is reprehensible.

If you choose to think this is a well written editorial that is fine. Just don't expect others to support it.

Hence my opinion...the site is a junk site.
