Electronics Imports Via Phuket Or Krabi

Featured Replies

I regularly purchase electronics equipment from ebay and have it shipped to Thailand.

If I ship to my Phuket address, on every occasion over the past few years, the shipment has been held at Phuket customs and I have had to pay a fee to release it. This applies even to used or 'spare-parts' equipment, as well as medical supplies/equipment for my volunteer work

But ... if I use my Krabi postal address, then on every occasion these shipments are safely delivered directly to my address, without any demand for tax or other payment/fees.

Maybe you need an address in the Rawai post office area. I sent some (toy) koalas for my son's girlfriend which they attempted to deliver several times but noone home - my fault. On checking at the post office, they not only found them about 5 months later, but were only charged 7 baht. (Lousy boy should have tipped!!)

She ended up with about 30 koalas, all of which I believe are in her car...

How much is the "rent" for a one off delivery of a part for my car?

Don't worry about a "part" for a car - I'm going to have a whole car posted over to me if the Krabi Post Office bypasses Thai Customs. :) :) :) :)
