Government Run/Sponsored College Courses

Featured Replies

hi all

I'm trying to find out a bit more about the government run/sponsored courses , in particular the tradition Thai Massage courses

my friend wife (in surin) has just completed a massage course , it was 150 hour spread over 3 months (approx 3 hours a day ) total cost 160B . shes starting a new course in a few days learning about computers , same deal 160B for 3 months . there's other courses to ... cooking , hair and beauty etc etc.

According to my mate .... the only places to offer theses courses are Surin, Si saket and Bangkok , which don't make sense to me , my GF is in nangrong-Buriram and she wants to do the Thai massage course, i thought there might have been somewhere in Buriram she could learn , but i cant find any information about what Buriram Community Collage dose ... or even information about the courses offered at surin and bangkok .

right now .. I'm kinda making plans to send her to Surin .... but i was wondering if anyone on this forum knows anything about theses courses... and if there offered anywhere a bit closer to her home .. Buriram

thanks

Those sound like courses found at Informal Education Centers. Some places hold classes/training at temples.

You'd probably have to check with the center in your area as to exactly what courses they teach. I believe many courses, if not all, are conducted on weekends.

In some provinces the Public Health Department also runs massage courses.

Another place to check is at a government hospital in your area.
