yepp, and Shell V-Power 95 is the best fuel available in TH, and needed to keep these cars happy. Actaully not totally happy, but as happy fuel as possible in TH

In my opinion the PTT 95 100% petrol offers the best octane. Shell V-power 95 is a mix petrol & ethanol (gasohol as it's known in Thailand).

True, but havent seen it available for years. Do you find Ptt or any other brand 95 petrol in Phuket?

All PTT station have 95 at the red pump. I buy mine in Kata PTT.

Correction - wrong, its only 92, but still better that V-power gashol (for my car)

The only place I know on Phuket Island with 95 is the Susco gas station just before the airport turn-off.

Actually its petrol 91, and works fine with low power car engines and only present solution for non gasohol compatible vehicles.

However these Singapore high tune cars most likely need 98 octane and most tolerate ethanol E10 as in gasohol E10. Shells V-Power has other advantages, so they use this and in TH ad octane boosters to achieve 98 octane. Most can probably run 95, but power is reduced by knock sensor

Susco sells 95 petrol, but its the only petrol I have had pinging with, so hard to believe it really is 95

Got to agree with you. Susco fuel quality is always suspect. Best to stay with the majors like Shell, Esso, Caltex, & PTT.

I used to drive all the way out there for 95 and my engine sounded Ok, but now I just use the 92 at PTT (as they are one of the few to offer 100% petrol) and don't drive the car too hard.

Susco used to be the only pump in Dragon, Surat, and every time I filled tank with it engine was pinging. Just had to get used to fill up Shell or Ptt before arriving the village.

That is the only pump in Thailand I got scammed (got only about half of the amount asked for for full price).

yeah, I forgot that Susco close to airport and Esso Patong are the only places in +8 years and +450.000km in TH I have been asked to pay more than I recieved

After reading about that a couple years back somewhere on TV, I never pull up past where I can easily see how much is pumped. Kinda alleviates any doubt.

If it's billed as 95 then it WILL be gasohol. And these huts charge much much more per liter than a regular gas station.
