I need to buy a bunch of AC's. The woman does not want to use home pro because we can save 1k baht per AC with 'guys'. So anyone here has a reliable guy? One hopefully that will clean the AC's completely and not just the inside the house fans when i call him back? Has to be able to come to the east

Trouble with a 'guy' is that they are not a reliable long term bet. I would recommend the guy I used for the last 5 years, but recently he has personal problems and is no longer reliable or even when he does turn up he's no longer thorough.

We use a 'guy' as we have a lot of aircon units, old and new, and he does everything for us at a good price. We get same day service and a new installation within a couple of days when one of the old ones dies.

But I wouldn't go out and look for someone just to save a few baht if I were working from scratch; I wold buy in Homepro, which has better deals than most local places, and get the free fitting service. I'd find someone to do the servicing a year or so later.

I have had a bunch of A/C guys. Couple of years ago I purchased 28 units from BKK and had a local guy install them. But then 6 months later when you realize some of them are leaking, the guys never show up.

Second Homepro, ok prices, some promotions very cheap, and warranty claims on installation handled by Homepro

Servicing, my maid done it herself couple of years now. Take it apart, clean, spray inside unit with a 3M foam to kill funghi etc, available at Homepro. Only if refill needed do we call Chiang Mai air

You are right as far as prices go if you buy the specials from Home PRo they have the best prices on most items

There after sales service and installation service is excellent

I would never go anywhere else to buy anything they stock, i always wait to they have a special price on a item i want

unless i need it urgently, even then i would more likely than not purchase it from them

Went to Homepro but they had only one or two Daikin Inverter AC, where one can find a larger selection? anyone?

And know any more business than Homepro and Homework that sell selling Sliding doors? look the picture below...

I just had my first house experience at home pro for floor tiles. Kind of sucked that they were out of white but when we chose it took 2mins and we were out and it was done..

Now i just wish they had a guy there to insulate my rooms for better AC retention.

Does it really matter what brand we take for AC's? Shouldnt they all be about the same quality? Mitsu seems very expensive.. It's just cold air isnt it?

Believe me it matter what brand, i have York and all of them is very loud, Daiken should be very quiet and so should Mitsu, my AC in my living room is 30.000 BTU i would love to change it out with a quiet Daiken but i want an inverter and have not seen a 30.000 BTU Daikin inverter yet

I have a guy that you can try to call if you have someone who can speak Thai as he doesn't speak English. I'm not sure if he installed mine as I was gone when it was installed, but he does a great cleaning job. He comes with a power washer and a bib for around the inside heat exchanger. Takes the cover off sprays some cleaner and then pressure washes it then goes outside and pressure washes inside the compressor's cooling fins. Checks the gas pressure and puts it all back together. His number is: 081-978-5779. But I haven't had him out for about a year, so as KataBB says you never know if they are still around or in business.

200 baht for full cleaning ? That sounds very reasonable. I pay 500 baht for that sort of service. If 200 baht then I'll give Chiang Mai a call.

yepp, it matters

LG and Samsung, inexpensive and reliable (past few years, used to be so so). Some great promotions

Fujitsu. More expensive, Superquiet inside unit, not yet seen any spec more quiet

Daikin Inverter. Inverter tech more quiet and saves power, but inside unit not Superquiet

York, Central Air, well cant believe anyone buys them

Mitsu, have products in all segments, some crap, some really good. Good ones to expensive

to make cold air, you need compressor, fans, bearings(some use nylon, lifetime 1-3 years), remote/sensors, pipes and registers(rustfree). When they fail, you want spareparts next day

Wow, that sounds cheap! Less than my guy. I might have to give them a try. Maybe they can get rid of the fire ants while they're at the house...

then you can find your own air con unit and compare

For purchase, consider Powebuy (I believe they are also part of the HomePro Group). Same deal (and good value specials) - free installation and a huge range - if not in store, can order from BKK. Google their website and select your aircon model in the comfort of your own home.

BTW, I have an interior unit for an 18 BTU aircon with remote, 3 years old, perfect working order (compressor died). Free to anyone who wants it. PM me.
