I have had at least 15 TH car Insurances issued, and none of them have mentioned engine power in any way, only engine cc

If you have a car and pass 220hp, you should pay more excicetax

Not valid for pickups tho

They are now checking engines of Vehicles involved in Hi Speed Death accidents and Right Offs for Re Chips. They are not fools, i wondered when they would realise CC means nothing. America and U.K. have done so for years.Only a FOOL would put it too the test.:D

Any mods to a car will be used by the insurance company as an excuse not to pay.

Basically they agreed to insure the vehicle as it was on the day the insurance started. If then you modify that vehicle you are invalidating the insurance.

If you get insurance without notifying them of modifications already made you are also in breach.

One thing that annoyed me was when I asked Nissan to raise the suspension (8cm) and change the wheels on my new Navarra before delivery, they siad it would invalidate the guarantee - on the whole vehicle

This is Thailand

If you change Insurance company after initial year, they require to inspect vehicle before even letting you pay. As they inspect a vehicle with performance chip, and issue an Insurance stating 2998cc (no hp info) I do fail to see how Insurance has been invalidated. I have read all the small print, and found no limitations on engine mods.

manufactorers warranty is another matter, and peanutmoney, here we are discussing Insurance

I have had Insuranceclaims with visible engine mods, and each claim has been hazzelfree

All Mods on a new Benz must be their nominated AMG at one time.As for Insurance ive said what an Exellent Body Repair Garage told me last week, and AIS confirmed, you take a chance.Up to You..Most likely dead anyway at 200.:bah:
