Best Day Of The Week To Drive To Ranong

What's the best day of the week to drive to Ranong with less traffic meaning a quicker journey time, and the other equation is less people at the Ranong end for a quick turnaround?

I used to try and go on a Sunday, the roads are a bit quieter (except for Khao Lak strech) if you're going to Ranong for visa run, best bet is to leave as early as you can. Aim to get to immigration before the 12 o clock visa run mini van crush and you'll be doing fine.

Take some good music with you, the strech of road the otherside of Takuapa all the way to Ranong is a beauty. A word of warning, there are two nasty bends and one and a half police check points on that strech to slow down for.

Enjoy!

I didn't think that there was any good day to go to Ranong.

I feeel ill every time I know I have to go there.

If you haven't been before take the the Big Boat - about 150 metres before immigration office. Good luck.

Want to go to ranong and miss all the crush at ranong immo, well go to the Andaman club. It has its own immo and you get to ride in an enclosed air-con boat and have time to relax in 5 star luxuary with exenable views. The first boat leaves at 0800 and go about every hour on the hour. They have stopped the extra 750 TB for 30 tourist visas and the round trip costs 650 TB all up. the way to find the pier easy is to follow the signs for the first govenors grave and then follow the signs for the multi-purpose pier. I am normally a masicist and leave rawai at 0330 to arrive in time at the pier for the first ferry to catch breakfast and then the 1025 ferry back so you start your journey home at 1100 and back on phuket for around 1600 allowing for stops
