Where To Buy A Tv?

Featured Replies

I finally got True to come out after 4 canceled appointments to install new boxes in the two bedrooms. However, the old small flatscreen I had stored away really isn't that good (I am used to watching on my 50 inch full HD plasma.)

So I need to get a new tv, maybe a 37 or 40 inch for the master bedroom (guests can make do with the old one in the second bedroom). I have checked out Central Pin Klao and the HomePro on Rapprapruek, but I am wondering where might be the best place to see a wide variety of tvs and at decent prices?

I want full HD with mp3 movie playback from a thumbdrive.

And any recommendations on a TV itself? I have a Samsung plasma which I quite like, but I am open to anything. I have read that LEDs are not really any better than other LCDs other than being thinner. cooler, and using a little less power.

Two places that seem pretty interesting are :: Big C and Makro

We bought our LG 32" LED at Carrefour/Big C, after I went in to buy a Samsung they had on sale. Looking at them side-by-side, the LG was MUCH brighter (we adjusted both TVs ourselves), we chose the LG. It plays from USB easily, and the VGA connector actually works properly, unlike our Samsung, which has a quirky one.

The prices are pretty much the same everywhere we looked, but, as mentioned above, Makro sometimes has great deals. Gotta research the model numbers carefully, to be sure you're getting a current model.

Tesco has a pretty unbeatable return policy for most things, but I'm not sure about TVs.

Have fun.

Home pro + at ploenchit bts-best service, not 40 blind mice following you around the store, delivers, sets everything up, call from customer service afterwards to ensure all is ok.

Went to Homepro (Ploenchit and Rapprapruek), HomeWorks, PowerMall, and Powerbuy (checked Big C Extra and Tesco Lotus, too). This is just for a bedroom TV, so I didn't want to spend a fortune. I had it narrowed down to an LG, Samsung, and Sony, and although I was leaning towards Samsung initially, I was really thinking about the LG. Then I saw a Philips at PowerBuy at a clearance price, bringing it down to the other three's range. The Philips has local dimming, which is the best LED technology. So I grabbed it.

I agree with the reviews that its remote rather sucks, and the inputs are a little awkward when compared to the others, but the picture quality really is great. And I got it at a very, very reasonable price.

You're joking right?

If you are looking to buy something higher end, check http://www.src-homelcd.com/

They sell TVs under the retail price.

For example, I bought my LG Cinema 3D (2011) 47LW6500 for 47.990 baht instead of 53.990 baht (retail price) and they brought TV to my condo for 100 baht with their car (about 25-30km with traffic).

There is no other vendor providing FPR 3D Technology with passive polarized glasses other than LG in Thailand (And vizio in US Market).
