Advice On Big Anniversary At Phuket

Featured Replies

My parents are having their 40th anniversary next week while we holiday in Phuket. Mum is recovering from a brain op, so nothing hectic. I was trying to book the sunset cruise of Phang Nga Bay on teh junk boat, but it is low season so they don't have it on the dates we want (2nd). Do you have any ideas at all of what I can do for them for one special evening? We will be on Nai Harn, so it can't be too far from there and definitely not strenous, we have a car, so we can drive somewhere as long as its no more than 40 mins max. Anything would be fab. A romantic dinner somewhere, a wonderful sunset experience, something! I can afford a decent amount, but nothing as much as a private yacht or anything! If you can help suggest anything, I would be so grateful. Thank you!

Anything on the water this time of year can be spotty, storms can blow in quickly.

How about a nice long dinner at Kan Eang @ Pier. Thats at Chalong Pier not but 15 minutes from Nai harn. Really nice Thai food, if you need western you can ask to order from their VSET restaurant, reasonable prices on wine , great view across Chalong Bay. Go Thai style, take your time, sip some wine, have a few waves of food. I recommend homoke, it's a sort of spicy fishcake, very good there, great appetizer.

Or,how about a really nice dinner at Phuket Puravarna Yacht Club? Has an excellent view of Nai Harn.

Maybe take them to DA VINCIS Nahairn great food ,,great service, ask for Mark the owner, tell him what the celebration is...he will look after you..as GOM says any thing to do with the sea trips is risky this time of year....Kaneang at the pier is also a great venue and great views..good luck..

anything but da vinci.

Can't state why or it'll get deleted. But dont. It's illegal in thailand to say why a restaurant should be avoided.

Whats your problem? im sure they would like to know about it....

I remind all members that 'name & shame' is a serious legal issue in Thailand. Clearly member seriouseats implies that he has an issue with a particular business, let's leave it at that. Any specific negative allegations will be removed from this board.

I like Davinci. Had a seafood risotto there that was out of this world. Pizzas are o.k., desserts are way good.

For seriouseats must be a personal problem, although when going that style I still prefer M&M's.

I must say that for once, probably the first time, I agree with seriouseats. But I must also say I only tried them once, was not happy, so never returned. I'm happy with other options in the area, no need to take the risk again.

It just shows that you do not think of frozen meals at 7/11 as fine cuisine as some people who are customers at said restaurant.

I have to agree with both of these suggestions. The last time I ate there it was very good... But I haven't been there very recently.
