Non-Im Depedency Visa For Parents?

Recommended Posts

Well, there was recently a news report of a mother of 13 years in the Netherlands, not that uncommen. The same article also mentioned a grandmother of something like 29....

But the idea of the immirgation regulation is to enable people to take care of their elderly parents. Very social.

Right, and the idea that someone must be retired itself to be allowed to take care of his/her parents it's very thai indeed, someone younger very rightly can't be allowed to do that....

I believe you are asking about a non Thai parent of a Thai getting the dependent extension? A Thai citizen would not be here on an extension of stay normally. Parents of a Thai would be eligible for section 2.18 extension of stay with same financial requirements as the Thai Wife extension of stay (same 2.18). Section 2.20 specifies specifies family member of an "alien" so even if Thai were here under an approved foreign passport extension of stay, such as employment or study, family dependent extensions might not be accepted.
