Unpaid Motorcycle Tax
When buying a used vehicle, exchange should be completed at the DLT or very least authorised inspection station. This issue would have been highlighted. Take the green book and bike to the DLT, it's got to be re registered. -

Crime Police Officer Injured in High-Speed Chase with Street Racers in Chachoengsao
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A police pursuit of illegal street racers ended in a dramatic crash that left a police officer injured and two teenagers hurt. The incident occurred on the Chachoengsao–Suwinthawong Road in the early hours of the morning of 11 July. At approximately 01:00, officers from Mueang Chachoengsao Police Station were alerted to a group of teenagers engaged in illegal motorcycle racing near the Kasemrad Hospital overpass, heading toward Bangkok. Police Captain Annop Janphakdee, crime suppression inspector, along with a motorcycle patrol unit, responded immediately. Upon arrival, officers spotted a grey Honda Wave motorbike with loud exhaust fleeing the scene. Police ordered the motorbike to stop via a loudspeaker, but the rider accelerated instead. Captain Annop attempted to cut off the fleeing vehicle with his pickup truck while two patrol officers on a police motorcycle, Police Lance Corporals Kittisak Inrod (driver) and Kamphon Chankondecha (passenger), gave chase. As the chase reached the area near Wat Tontan in Village 5, Wang Takhian subdistrict, the suspect motorbike suddenly swerved to the right, clipping the front wheel of the pursuing police motorcycle. Both bikes crashed, skidding more than 30 metres along the road. L/Cpl Kittisak Inrod suffered head injuries and was found unconscious in the middle of the road. L/Cpl Kamphon was also injured, left confused and unable to recall the incident. The two teenagers on the fleeing motorcycle also sustained injuries in the crash. Captain Annop quickly reversed and parked his vehicle across the road to block traffic and prevent further problems. Emergency medical teams from Phutthasothon Hospital and Kasemrad Hospital were called to assist. L/Cpl Kittisak was found to have a large head wound and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. One of the injured teenagers, a 17-year-old identified only as “A”, told police that he had been riding pillion with his friend “B”, also 17. They had been racing with a group of 3–4 motorcycles when they noticed police giving chase. Initially thinking they should stop, “B” instead decided to speed up to escape, likely fearing arrest due to the illegally modified loud exhaust. Deputy Provincial Police Commander Colonel Somchai Yusawat visited the scene personally and instructed officers to collect all available evidence. He also ordered police to monitor the hospital, fearing that friends of the injured teens might attempt retaliation against police officers. Street racing has become a persistent problem in Chachoengsao, particularly on weekends and public holidays. Residents have repeatedly filed complaints due to the noise from modified exhausts and the danger the illegal races pose to traffic safety. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-07-12 -

Crime Bombing Suspect Confesses to Deadly Attack on Paramilitary Forces in Pattani

A suspect has confessed to planting the improvised explosive device (IED) that killed one paramilitary officer and injured three others in a deadly attack in Pattani province on 2 June 2025. At a press briefing held at the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward Headquarters in Sirindhorn Camp, Yarang district, Colonel Kiattisak Neewong, the command’s spokesperson, provided details of the suspect’s confession and ongoing investigation. The explosion occurred in Ban Naprao, Panare district, Pattani, targeting a patrol unit from Ranger Company 4214, part of the 42nd Ranger Regiment Task Force. The blast killed Lieutenant Apichart Phaphan and severely injured Sergeant Major First Class Sulkiflee Maideng 45 and Rangers Praidre Yusa 33 and Masufi Waeteh 28. Following the attack, authorities arrested Mr. Tueburi Wamae, a person of interest, and brought him in for questioning. Under interrogation, Mr. Wamae confessed to being part of the cell responsible for the attack. He admitted to assembling the explosive device and transporting it to the site where it was deployed. Colonel Kiattisak stated that the suspect had cooperated fully, even demonstrating how the bomb was constructed and leading officers to the location where it was planted. Investigations are continuing to identify further links to other incidents and members of the insurgent network. He reiterated that all operations had been conducted under strict adherence to the rule of law and full respect for human rights. “We are committed to transparency and accountability. All suspects are treated fairly, and their dignity and legal rights are fully respected,” Colonel Kiattisak said. The incident has reignited concerns about continuing unrest in Thailand’s southern border provinces, where separatist group Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) is believed to be behind a renewed wave of attacks, aimed at pressuring the government into formal negotiations. In a related development, the civil rights network JASAD issued a statement urging authorities to uphold transparency and human rights standards when operating under special laws. They called for the prompt return of seized property not linked to criminal activity and equal treatment of all detainees under Thai criminal law.
