Chiang mai, thai islands, southern vietnam, Burma is opening up at the moment too and you might want to check that out, would be a good place to be for a photographer i reckon as it opens up.

Stay the hell out of northern vietnam, worst experience of se asia in my experience.

I grew up in one of the crime capitals of the world and know what it is to constantly live in fear and on the edge. I have also lived in one of the safest countries in the world and know what it feels like not to have a worry in the world. And then there is Malaysia. I agree regarding crime in Malaysia Personal assault is a very real, very big problem, so are robberies. What an eye-opener in all honesty as we certainly didn't expect the level of crime we experienced and witnessed living in Malaysia. I guess it takes living in Malaysia for an extended period AND working amongst all echelons of the society to fully comprehend the extend of the problem.
