BOTTOM3

18.Norwich

19.Swansea

All too predictable.....maybe Wigan could end up in the relegation dogfight......starting with a 7-0 hammering at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday (see Thai Visa Predictions League) :shock1:

if we're going to have discussion in this thread by the way i predict that city are going to win 30 games. they're going to absolutely steamroller most teams in the division. which would be 90 points and a runaway title win. their squad depth is just ridiculous, and i don't see champions league football distracting them either. they're probably going to go a long way in that too.

More to mix it up rather than any conviction.

Stevie has hit the nail on the head. I just can't see anyone bar Man Utd giving them trouble this year. The way they demolished us the other week was phenomenal given some of the team has yet to gel. When that happens we'll likely see some cricket scores.

I've been thinking of this after the first 3 matches and I think it very well could end up this way:

1. Man City

2. Man U

3. Liverpool

4. Chelsea

Would be nice to see a new champion, anyway.

And bottom three:

Swansea

Norwich City

Blackburn

I think the bottom three is really hard to call and will be close again. I do not think Swansea have enough to stay up, though they will play entertaining football and pull off some upsets, and Norwich City will do the same, really. I think those two are the best bets to go down and as usually not all three promoted sides go right back down, QPR is the best bet to stay up.

Blackburn, Everton, Wigan, West Brom and Fulham could all struggle, too. It's hard to tell, really. Fulham because they will have to play Europa League and I haven't seen them strengthen too much. I think anyone I haven't mentioned will be safe.

It's a league strong as ever and a team we may not expect to go down could fall. Wolves are clicking now but I suppose could also go down, but I think they've strengthened just enough to be somewhere in the middle, and some of their players have improved.

A deep squad is important stevie for sure-so is rotating them enough to keep all the superstars happy.

They'll just spend another 100m to field more galacticos in their rotation system. All these modern day footballers play for money above all else..........except for Samir Nasri that is! Whatever silverware City win will be such an achievement.....

Champions - Man City

Runners Up - Man Utd

Third - Chelsea

Fourth - Liverpool.

Relegated

Norwich

Wigan

Swansea

And promoted from the Championship will be

West Ham

Brighton

Southampton

not in any particular order.

Ofcourse this is going to happen but why do contributors to this forum not understand this. Its very simple, that is to say, no one else ultimately will be able to compete. Fergusen is currently the only leveller but that won't/can't go on either. They are an unstoppable money train buying silverware and ruining the game in the process.

I don't care whether anyone believes me or not but whilst i'd love to see Spurs winning champions and european trophies i would not want it done in the manner of Chelsea or the manner City will. Wheres the achievement? There isn't any. Just a case of my wad is bigger than yours.

Obviously this will get some stupid replies ;) but i do genuinely feel this way. That said City fans have been having to put up with aussies and americans taking the piss about Utd's trophies for years so i can understand some payback.

Chelsea are just a horrid little club with a vile captain.

:D

couldn't agree more about chelsea. as danny baker repeatedly said, a small club that won the pools.

ferguson is indeed united's biggest weapon by miles right now - the belief he instills into his players is incredible. if more teams woke up and the scales fell from their eyes they'd realise this season that united are rooney + 10 and that they're more than beatable. it's ferguson's will to win that drives them on.

interesting article from sid lowe on the guardian today about just what a silly 2-horse race the spanish league has become: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/sep/07/la-liga-barcelona-real-madrid

As you say there would be far less to whinge about if people would simply accept the fact that it is pure money that is buying up winning the title. It is when people argue along the lines of 'Mancini is a better manager than Ferguson - look at what he has achieved over the last 18 months' that it irritates me.

The annoying thing is that 'achievement' 'recognition' and 'respectability' is what drives these creepy owners to get involved in the first place. (If people would simply despise or ignore them they would go away.) Abromavich wishes us to forget about the mysterious deaths or less than mysterious arrests of his business opponents and the 100m yacht he gave to Putin, Mansour hopes that the next wave of Arab revolutions will not engulf him and see him lined up against a wall. To be honest I am surprised that Thaksin never bought Man City - oh yes I forgot.....

What annoys me are people who use non-existent statements to try and justify their own view. As much as we hate the RAGS, ALL City fans I know respect what Fergusson has done and NONE have said that Mancini is better than him. Mancini has still to prove himself and all true City fans well know this.

Can you point me to a source of those City fans who argue this point?

Absolutely mate.

Abrak really spouts so much sh!te on here, basically because he knows sweet FA about football. Much as though I dislike Fergie, He is a fantastic manager with unprecedented achievments. I know of nobody who would even dare compare Mancini with Ferguson, and I like Mancini!!

What p!sses me off on here is the obvious jealousy with numpties slagging City off because we have money. Its the first time that we have had real dosh. Many other clubs have had the taste of success with money (Blackburn for example) Its just that there is more money than ever involved now, and we are fortunate enough to have supremely rich owners. But to now start belittling City because we have money, is just <deleted> in my opinion.

I'm not even gonna tempt fate on the top finishers but for the bottom:-

QPR

Swansea

Norwich

I will do it for you then!!!

1) City

2) Chelsea

3) United

Bottom

18) Swansea

19)Everton

20) Blackburn (IN my opinion, guaranteed for relegation)

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.....

You dont know anybody? Why not read this thread?

Actually the issue with City does not come down to pure 'jealousy'. Rather like Carmine I would prefer my club to achieve less (or whatever it is going to achieve) without the 'pure force of money'. But that is solely my opinion.

The more important question is whether what Mansour is doing (or Man City are doing) is 'productive' or 'destructive' for the sport. I fully accept it is good for Man City supporters. However it is very clearly destructive. It would have been a totally meaningless decision for clubs to set up a process whereby the 'big' clubs subsidize the small clubs through the TV media contracts unless it was to result in an overall bigger contract (which might in the long term be in the best interests of the big clubs) if this was not the case. Clearly subsidizing a large club is totally counter-productive.

At the micro level the fact that additional funds flow directly through to the players simply means that say Rooney earns 250,000 a week instead of 200,000 a week - is an axiomatic value destructive concept (unless of course you happen to believe otherwise).
