Can I Apply For Non Immigrant O?

Dear All,

My parents(Singaporeans) will be applying for Non Immigrant O-As respectively very shortly.

Will i be eligible to apply for a Non Immigrant O (Dependsent Visa) with them?

I will go first, to see how many options I get wrong:-

Unless they are very old you will not be able to get a 'non-imm O'. You will need to be over 50 and evidence income of GBP 900.00 p.m.

If you are married to a Thai, that will qualify you.

Otherwise it is a Tourist - or perhaps a Student visa ?

They are 64 and 62 respectively and meets the requirements of O-A.

So i'ts not possible for me to apply for a visa base on theirs?

The key is your age (which you have not provided). You are allowed to apply for dependent extension of stay to match parents here on retirement if you meet the conditions below - that would allow/require you obtain a non immigrant O visa.

As the OP has been asking questions about buying cars it would seem likely that he would be too old for the above.

Yup. I'm on a Non Immigrant B atm. I'm 32 and would definitely not qualify for the Non Immigrant O (dependent) then.

Looks like my only option would be either to get legally married and obtain the marriage visa or to continue with my Non Immigrant B then.
