A Thai friend did a bachelors at ABAC then a Masters in England to get 30,000 / month in Thailand at work. Invested many years a lot of money. On the other hand the "exploited staff" at 1500/day are probably making 30,000 or more per month even while doing the apprenticeship and hands on training(pun intended). Could make an argument that the universities exploited students also.

Thats like claiming Richard Branson makes millions while a flight attendant gets much less. Start up costs, over/getting head costs (LOL) Etc etc. I don't admire the operators but you can't say 1500 bat / day for employees with little education is exploitation.

This is the point, they do and they can.

Once they are in the UK, with all the relavent paperwork, that`s it, they are allowed to do what any British citizen is allowed to do. This is the main difference between being a foreigner in the UK and in Thailand.

But of course, if Thais become involved in any illegal activities in the UK, then they will be subject to penalties under the same laws as everyone else.

I find most British people quite nice, and have quite a few as friends here and at home - there are notable exceptions of course. A few of my British friends own bars where some of my thai friends work, I suppose you would call them pimps, but I try not to be judgmental about my friend's occupations, nor class people as "desirable" or not by such criteria.

They all ride motorcycles too - I suppose that indicates another lack of desirability. And drink beer - how "common."

FYI among my "British" friends back home are 2 that go by the nickname Pommy, Pommy Dave (who was actually born in Oz but his parents are Welsh) because our group had 3 Dave's, and in a different group plain Pommy, who's real name I don't recall even after 30 years of friendship. I'll have to ask him, I'm sure he won't be offended.

Well said Suradit, UK farangs have nothing to boast about when it comes to the police.

Not sure of the economics of this type of business but is the 100,000 Baht before expenses such as renting or buying the property they used and internet fees.

As for the Thai police they do seem to get a bad deal on here.There are many provable cases of senior police running gambling and sex establishments plus other scams. Those further down the ranks are also involved. Part of the problem is undoubtedly the poor pay. My only experience has been with the traffic police on my first visit to Thailand. I was stopped 3 times in 2 days but they just checked my papers and were very polite. They can't all be bad.

Apart from the pay the main problem here is that when wrongdoing is discovered senior police are just moved and not removed.

Your statements about the UK police are just as bad. The case you refer to is still ongoing so the facts are not clear but rest assured if any police officer is found to have acted as you have stated I doubt they will be in police employment any longer.
