Almost definitely the smaller Mike's place which is in south Pattaya.

Small Store

The smaller, older mall is located further south along Pattaya Beach Road. This mall does not contain a proper department store, rather, the floors are occupied by private vendors selling various goods such as clothing and decorative items. Much of the clothing found in this branch are "knock-offs" of real clothing brands.

It is beyond hilarious that the "news" source failed to mention the actual place of the raid.

You are so right. I'd want to know for sure because by being coy about it, it tarnishes for example Outlet Mall which presumably sells genuine stuff. But who knows because the mall that was raided could be any mall in South Pattaya selling real or fakes. It may even be Tukcom.

And why is the press so coy about it? Hiding behind the risk of a defamation action? Fear of offending Mr Mike?

Yet, I have seen articles naming places like Thepprasit Market or Naklua Market when a raid occurs there. Duh, we all know anyway the addidas I bought there is not real!!!

According to a property manager friend, the police (and press) make money by keeping certain information out of the news.

Some of the stuff they sell in Pattaya is not really fake, since lots of big label stuff is made in Thailand or Vietnam it's simply been made in the same factory as the real gear.

I bought a G-star jacket last year and showed it a guy who works in a G star shop in Scotland, he compared the same jacket they had in the shop, no difference at all !

Just like the bad restaurant reviews on ThaiVisa that are not allowed to name the restaurant!

What's really clear, is that we're not getting the REAL story. Why wasn't the big store raided (assuming it wasn't)? That place is full with fakes as well. The same old song and dance. No, I don't really care about the fake trade but neither does the Thai government either, except if it is Thai companies getting hurt.
