Traditional Thai Massage In Pattaya

Featured Replies

Another great place for a Thai massage and in my opinion the best foot massage in Pattaya is First Foot Massage located on 2nd Rd about 100 yards from South Pattaya Road on the left (if you were facing towards South Pattaya Road).

Once you have been here you will certainly tip (even you poppa) and keep going back.. :o

Fox i will give it a try , but i cannot guarantee that i will tip ( it hurts to much )

Recommended Banchang Palace in an earlier post (subject to an 'atmospheric' experience), now have to rescind that after experience last night ... will never visit again.

We went for massage and again one masseuse took prolonged call on her mobile, massaged my g/f with just one hand and in same spot, enough to almost bruise her. My masseuse was variable, good at a few points but overall below acceptable standard.

No trousers for us to put on, just tops.

Massage lasted about 1h20m, which I didn't mind as I wanted out of there, but then we were charged 200 baht each and told that times had now changed, only 1h30m not 2h00m.

Attitude was apalling and masseuse saw nothing wrong in talking with her friend on mobile about what she was going to eat later, while giving massage. Altogether an unpleasant time and waste of money.

Did you leave a tip as it is customary :o

Only joking :D

Ask the lady giving you a massage and they will talk big about how much tips they get and how large the tip always is! Come on and get real people. 100B tip is so much more than enough. In reality, 40B tip is plenty decent for a 2 hour massage actually usually. Also, you could just as easily leave nothing -- as is honestly the norm for Thai customers.

But really, I don't care how much you all decide to tip. Tipping has many factors to consider. I'm not telling anyone how much to tip.

Well done for saying it the way it is in Thailand.

and not the way people want it to be.

10 out of 10.

Have a nice day :o:D

50bht per hr is faire/reasonable.

Brit 50 bath tip for one hour , the lady's (brick layers etc ) on the building sites get 180 baht for a 10 hour shift , how can you justify 500 baht a day in TIPS , next we will have doctors and nurses giving up there jobs to be masseurs , 10 baht is reasonable , but that is just my opinion

I agree Brit. :o

And lets not revert into that "Thais don't tip" discussion hey? :D

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Well done for saying it the way it is in Thailand.

Thanks icecubes. :o People need to remember this is Thailand. Whatever people want to believe, the reality is that tipping is not generally part of this culture.

very true Brit , but i don't live in the west and i don't earn the western money no more as i live on a pension , and now i find that the Thais are expecting tips as a norm , i have even been in a bar and been served a warm beer at 75 baht , and then had a lady smacking they tray off the bar to embarrass me into giving a tip , i did give her a tip but it was not the tip she expected , i think we are totally destroying these people , you think about it , brick layer 150 baht a day, lazy bast##d who cannot be bothered to check if your drink is cold 500 baht a day in tips , it does not make any sense to me , but as they say UP TO YOU

Does anyone have any recomendations for traditional Thai massage by qualified masseurs in Pattaya?

Never been to a bad one yet.

Some are of course better than others.

Tend to stay clear of the ones on beach road,as I have found that I was treated like a piece of meat. Also masseur kept checking their watches.Happened a few times in different parlours.

So I found that going up a side "Soi" or 2nd road to be better.

An idea for a tip "trying singing the Blaydon Races" :D:o:D

Faire enough - I don't begrudge anyone who doesnt want to tip or tips less especially if you have a valid reason. If someone does a good job they are rewarded if they give me a warm drink - they get naught! (tips work both ways)

I was up in Uthai Thani for the Loy Kratong extended weekend visiting the countryside. Anyway, the whole family had massages in the house by a local professional. She charges 50B/hr. Tips were not even considered. 2 hour massage for my honey was 100B.

It isn’t appropriate to use the wage of a construction worker (many of whom are Burmese that work illegally for significantly lower wages than Thais) to determine tip for a Thai masseur. There are a number of other factors like food and living costs in Pattaya which often aren’t factored into gossiped wage levels amongst “wanna feel rich foreigners”. Today, in rural, rural, Thailand you can expect to hire a rice farmer for 150 baht an 8 hour day…expect to pay almost double for anything similar in Pattaya. This is for the lowest of the unskilled, ugly, and non-english speaking workers.

A real Thai masseur will have taken classes, and specifically trained to perform his or her duties—giving a correctly done Thai massage isn’t knowledge bestowed on Thai’s at birth (although, many know the motions, few have had formal training). These classes can often be lengthy and come at a high price to most rural Thai families.

At the shop I referred to before, Thai masseurs make 80 baht out of the 240 baht two hour thai massage customers pay. On average my friend gives about 2 massages a day so she makes lets say 160 baht (80baht *2 massages) a day from her shop. Let’s say someone tips her the ridiculous rate (according to ice cubes) of 100 baht a massage. This means she makes 360 baht a day or 9,720 baht a month (assuming a 30 day month with 3 days off or 27 working days).

Fair in my mind, considering she’s forced to touch any customer who chooses her through a fish bowl in very personal places, many of whom are just as rude as those who frequent walking street. She still makes far less than the 30+k/month most ago-go dancers make but even still less than the average English speaking Thai can make (usually about 12,000/month in Pattaya) and less than 15k college graduates can make working office jobs on the industrial estates.

Icecubes- I private messaged you because my comments to you were off topic. It would help if you were constructive in your comments about why you shouldn’t tip a Thai masseur rather than blatantly calling me and other members of this forum wrong and claiming I/we know nothing about tipping etiquette in a Thai massage parlor.

You could just admit your wrong.

Yawn :o

The reason for your PM was because you’re a paper hat Mat.

and wanted to be rude and insulting and did not want your stupid comment to be seen on the Forum.

Have a nice hand job at your next Massage and give them a tip say 500baht

its the going rate.

Yawn. :D

Hi there everyone

I have copied and pasted this from my website... this is from my Pattaya pages about massages...

Poppa did you get my recent message?

Best wishes everyone :o

One of the nicest things I enjoy doing whenever I am in Thailand is to have a nice massage. There are so many scattered around the place that the traveller is rather spoilt for choice. Some are better than others and some also include Beauty treatments such as facials, manicures, and pedicures. VIP Sauna and Steam is what it says it is and of course has a wonderful massage service.

Fondest Memory:

VIP Sauna and Steam massage was a place reccomened to me by a Thai friend who would use this place themselves. For one hour a person could relax and undwind by having a massage for a minimal price (I think I paid about around the 100-300 baht price mark for one hour).

A girl is then picked out by the manager and is assigned to you to take your cares away from you while you enjoy having her take away all those aches and pains. If she is good you can then ask for her number and she will be your massuese next time you come to visit. I had my own massage done by Vi- Lai who was Massage girl number 19.

VIP Sauna and Steam can be located at 533 Pattaya Soi 10, Pattaya 2nd Road. Ph 429543
