Language School

Featured Replies

Hi

I know there's a section on language, but the relevant thread has degenerated into an argument between teachers and now seems out of date,, so I thought i'de try my luck on here. I will be in Bangkok from mid October, for the first month or I will live on Sukhumvit 42 will be looking to study Thai in the afternoons What are my options?, I really dont want to sit exams, but I want to get a basic working grasp on the language . Can anyone recommend a decent local school that has a good track record and also represents good value for money, Thanks v much

Thai language hut is pretty good and managed by an English guy (Mark) and his thai wife

Jentana & Associates are pretty good. They assign a teacher, male or female up to you and arrange individual classes to suit your time of day.

They have a variety of courses and I don't remember exactly, but I think about 10 lessons cost about Thb6,000 and can be spread over whatever period of time you want.

They were in Sukhumvit Soi 31 but I think they have moved to Soi 39. It won't cost you anything to give them a call (022606138 or mob 0818085180) and check them out.

I can recommend 2 places the first is in suk soi 11- and is very reasonably priced heres a link- http://www.somchart.com/index.php?action=private

There is another place in silom right next to Sala Daeng BTS called Thai Language Station. Very flexible courses and good pricing. http://www.tls-bangkok.com/english

If you have a bit more money available i would goto Language Express in Ploen chit right next to the BTS. The owner Simon is cool and the courses are excellent.

Hope this helps
