InvadeIT list the same SSD @ Bt.5690 (117.00 british squids), I guess shopping around might find it cheaper but I doubt you will get it close to the amazon price, buy it in the UK.

No mystery here: everything like that is cheaper in the UK, and cheaper still in the US. Thailand is not cheap for IT parts, by any stretch of the imagination. Very limited choice here also, and little or no warranty from the shop selling them.

Still a new technology. I now have a 120GB Sata III OCZ drive and it is impressive at around 540+ MBps rates (Megabytes/second). I use it only for my OS and all my applications go on it for fast program startup. I keep a full image backup of the SSD updated just in case. Fortunately the backup times are very quick ;) Win7 startup less then 15 seconds, shutdown 5 seconds. Photoshop CS5, 2 seconds to finish loading. Here is some info on reliability.
