Honeymoon In Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Hi Islanders, we're a newly wedd couple from Poland, going to our HM in Koh Samui. We'll be staying in Q Signature Resort (Choeng Mon). Really looking forward to any advice on what to see, do, go while staying on the islands or what to avoid/put aside. We're quite adventurous, sailors, divers... so are there any sailboat available for renting on the beaches? We're can we buy snorkling trips i.e. to Angthong National Park or Koh Tao or should we just talk to a local to take us there? Thank You in advance for any info.

Where to start.

Congratulations to you both - have a great life.

Not sure how soon you are coming, but this is the time of year for unsettled weather (October) and November is usually rainy season.

However - still lots to do,

Choengmon has quite a few good restaurants and so walking out and eating will not be a problem..

The beach is sheltered as the weather is from the West at the moment.

Lots of tour shops everywhere (you do not have to only use the hotel one.) Better to use a proper tour - less likely to run into trouble.

There are also dolphin trips and round-the-island tours for water based stuff. Kite surfing near-bye at this time of year.

There are also land based tours but some are a bit touristy - hey, that's what you are here for! B)

Most tours will collect you from the hotel

Things to avoid - jet-ski's and renting a motorbike (unless you are a very experienced rider!) Oh, and Chang beer is quite strong - careful how you go.

Have fun and let us know how it goes.

Thank You Tropicalevo, where landing in Koh Samui in two weeks time, so we'll probably take our wellies with us ;) Will definitely use tour shops for some trips, but the inland trips we'll probably do on our own... not much of a fan of those touristy trips ;)

Hope to have a great time, will surely let you know how it goes :)

For sailing, there is a place on Chaweng beach that rents out those hobie cat type sailing dinghies. I am pretty sure that there is a sailing club somewhere near Ocean's 11 restaurant on Bangrak Beach. They do have the Samui Yacht Regatta every year, so I'm sure you will find something.

As for snorkelling, there are plenty of dive shops around, that will take you along on their dive trips. Most diving is done near Koh Tao, via speedboat. They will drop you off on the beach, and collect you later on.

congrats
