I am new on thaivisa.com

I am getting married with my Thai lovely GF soon. I am wondering if I have to declare for diamond jewelry which I am planing to get her on the wedding when coming to Thailand again or not.

If I do then how much taxes do I have to pay for?

Have anyone had experience about bringing diamonds along with you to Thailand?

Diamonds are not appreciated by most Thai's or their family (not easily converted to cash), you are better off to wait until you get here and invest in Gold, that will be more appreciated and is a status symbol here.

I brought a diamond ring into Thailand in my small back-pack.

Did not tell anyone ;)

And my GF prefers diamond ring/earrings/bracelet above gold, risk of theft you know....

don't think u need to declare.

By the way, Congratulation! I'm sure your girlfriend must love that diamond jewelry.
