Resting Places - Reclining Chairs, Myth Or Truth?

Featured Replies

While searching for a place to rest between the flights, I came across this information:

"The lounges are located on the third floor of concourses B and D (on the west side), equipped with able - to - be - adjusted upholstered chairs for transfer passengers relaxation while waiting for boarding. Television with interesting programs of news and enterainment are also provided for them."

Is this wishful thinking, or do such chairs exist for those passengers who do not have an access to the airlines lounges?

thank you

I saw such an area walking from the Thai business lounge at concourse E to the gates last Sunday.

This is correct before the E gates at the same level as the lounges are relaxing chairs.

The chairs are quite good but almost always occupied with sleeping people.

Also at the same area you have internet stations to the left and right side.

But i did not see any television.

Seen a couple of them and used one once.

Chairs are comfortable but none reclining that I recall.

"Television with interesting programs of news and enterainment are also provided for them" Can't be TrueVisions then.

I've seen them next to the Emirates lounge going towards the gates. I've never seen them full in the evening.

Those are the E-gates. ( Emirates boarding from E Gates )

many of you have seen them by E, I assume that was on 3rd floor?

thanks

I'm not 100% sure but it is the floor between Arrival floor and Departure floor where the lounges are.

I believe it is indeed the 3 floor.

^I've seen them on the departures floor.

I've never been to a floor between departures and arrivals.

Level 2 = Arrivals

Level 4 = Departures ( where check-in, immigration and duty free shops are )

level 3 = Where most of the lounges are and access to the departure gates.

For example, when you past the immigration and would like to go to the Emirates you have to go one floor down.

Then the ones I have seen are on Level 4.

The seats in E don't recline exactly, but they are basically pre-reclined, already in a leaning position. This is also the only area I've found relatively-reliable free internet (not the 15-minute version you get at the counter, I've never gotten that to work).

In G concourse nearish the spa, there are fully-flat sofas. I have slept on those several times.

Truly wish there were more comfortable seats on Level 3.

I found those seats on Level 3 last time I was at the airport.

Most of the reclining seats appeared to be broken, but it was nice to be able to use the internet while waiting for the gate to open.

FWIW, outside the large TG Royal Silk Lounge on Level 3, opposite gate D2, there are ~ 3 longish rows of reasonably padded chairs without arms, on which one can (possibly) sleep? I was there waiting for the TG lounge to open (05:00 - 05:15) and saw a lot of people sleeping. Bring eye-shades and ear-plugs. You can probably leech the TG WiFi there as well?

There may other similar seating throughout the level 3 concourse?

FWIW, people get on and off planes at fixed gates on level 2, in the concourse A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H areas.

I'll have to look more closely next time. I've spent the night in the airport numerous times due to flights or bus times not matching up right, and have only ever noticed the single rows of thin metal seats all along floor in front of the restaurants/prayer rooms/banks. Which I've slept on anyway!

There's also a hotel at that level if you want a proper bed.
