Kindle Connectivity In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I'm in Chiang Mai (Wat Santhitam area) on holiday and have bought my WIFI/3G/keyboard Kindle over with me. I took it round to a friend's place to show him an d was susrprised to find that there's no connectivity other than wifi. The Amazon website says that there is mobile/cellphone connectivity in Thailand. Is this connectivity only available on 3G networks? Does anyone else use a Kindle on GPRS/3G connections in Chiang Mai?

Apologies for the spelling mistakes but it doesn't seem possible to edit a new thread OP.

My old kindle 3g works in CM but I understand the new model overseas only works on amazon homepage and lets books be downloaded not email and web as the old one does.

Strange. I have the old Series 3 Kindle 3G and it won't see any mobile networks all.

Mine is a DX sent here by amazon. I am not now in CM but was near CMU.
