Our incoming mail is consistantly late at the moment. Bills are arriving after due dates etc. Presume this is due to flood issues in Bangkok which is fair enough and not the usual inefficiency of the PO.

However, with Christmas around the corner, has anyone had any experience of delayed post to the UK recently?

No problems outgoing yet. Posted some birthday cards to the UK this month - all arrived OK. Yes definitely problems with stuff coming to the island from the telephone people.

i once sent a package from thailand, and my brother sent a package from with in the UK , i sent mine on the 17th i think and it arrived on the 23rd, he sent on the 17th as well i think ( as his sms to remind me sent me to the post office ! )

I also sent snail mail, as i was quoted 1-2 weeks for a little over 1,000 thb for fast or 120 thb standard....

considering it was xmas, i was VERY surprised it arived so quickly, a record in my books !

How long does it normally take on average, for items sent either way to arrive at their destination?

Between one and two weeks seem to be the norm in my experience.

Letters/cards do end up in the Bermuda Triangle now and again though.:(

Boater, 17th to the 23rd, was that the 1000 baht option or the 120 baht option you took on that one?

that was the cheaper option !!

Don't expect any mail to the UK to be delivered today! biggrin.gif

Are you on strike too, Smokie??

Don't be silly. Only muppets and illegal immigrants live in Britain these days! biggrin.gif
