G/F Wants To Buy Land

Featured Replies

The GF wants to buy a plot of land some where on the outskirts of Bangkok. She has 4 million bht to spend as a very long term investment.

At some stage she will build a house on it. She has also considered gated community but doesnt really like the cramped feeling and having neighbors wall to wall

Any thoughts on land pricing and land area for 4mbht? Neither of us have a clue at what you could buy for that money. R/E state agents welcome with any info as well

I can't think of anywhere in SE Asia i would be less inclined to buy land for long term investment purposes than the flood plain of Thailand.

I would buy along the South Eastern coastline and provinces' industrial/commercial areas though. Close enough to BKK to monitor.

Thanks good point I haven't discussed that with her. Shes pretty flexible and even mentioned chang mai.

Let her make the decision as to where to purchase any land but don't let her use your money. A friend of mine made that mistake, as usual things soon went pear shaped, they went their separate ways and the matter of the 5000 GBPs he 'invested' in this land has been in the hands of the lawyers for three years. The documents he signed were all in Thai so he did not know what he was signing and he admits that in all probability he will never see his hard earned cash ever again. She did not make him get involved in the deal, he chose to.
