Video Cassette

Featured Replies

I have a couple of old video cassettes. Is their any way they can be transfered to a CD?

Yes.

Do you have a cassette player and a DVD writer? If so you can do it yourself, if not some place like the Panthip Plaza will do it for you.

I dont have a cassette player. I guess the best thing would be to go to Pantip and just ask around different shops. Any idea what they would charge for this?

You dont mention the type of cassette, I assume we are talking VHS, if so the PP can do it, you should go to the 4th floor, back side close to the car park, price depends on how many tapes you have and how good your Thai is.

The problem with this type of endeavour, its time consuming, the tape must be played on a player at regular speed to be captured on a computer, so if you have a 3 hour tape, it will take 3 hours to be loaded, next problem do you want the data to be split into chapters, cleaned up and edited etc etc.

If you just want a tape transferred to a DVD should be about 200 baht.
