Can you help recommend a server for hosting a few websites please? Something that allows you to host multiple domains and subdomains with an option for dedicated IP addresses for all domains in the account, unlimited bandwidth would be nice if it isn't slow.

Should have cPanel, analytics and set up for Wordpress, Drupal or Joomla. My SQL and PHP5 ready.

Please no more Hostgator or Godaddy, i've had enough bad service and performance from these two companies. If possible please be sure they are not resellers for Hostgator or Godaddy branded as a different company.

Are there many options out there that do not go through "The Planet" data center in Dallas? Prefer to get away from 'The Planet', this is Hostgator's rented data center provider.

A smaller but professional company would be great, I use to work at Hostgator and know how things work around there....it's not pretty.

Plenty of options available (thousands?).

You will not find offers for unlimited IPs.

IPs are scarce, especially IPv4.

Even if you pay, many hosters will refuse to allocate too many IPs to you, because IPv4 regulations restrict the use of IPs.

Domains and subdomains should come unlimited with any virtual server.

What would you need all the separate IPs for?

Do you want to send out mass mailings?

What other requirements do you have?

How many sites are you talking about?

How much space do you need?

What's the current average monthly traffic?

Are we talking about a standard LAMP system?

Backup?

etc.

I really only need to host around 10 sites right now with dedicated IP's and will expand later, but have only found deals for like 5 domains per hosting package & $1 per IP per month. I've found dedicated IP's have better results on search engines.

While there are thousands of host, a lot of them are resellers that have to contact the main company for any real issues, and this is what i want to avoid. Standard LAMP is fine, nothing fancy just basic sites and a few forums.

Around 100gb data transfer for now.

I'm assuming you are looking for shared hosting plans. I haven't used them for a few years but I used to have pretty good luck with geekprices.com which by all appearances is a reseller but I never had issues with downtime or long waits if I did submit tickets for anything.

For the past couple of years I've been using VPS.net which I think would suit your needs if you don't mind doing a little work yourself. 1 node on their cloudservers would set you back $20/mo which is way more than most shared plans but you're in control. You can host, resell, whatever...so how many domains and subdomains you have is up to you. I pay $1 per additional IP address. They also offer free SSL certs, ISP Manager Pro, etc. They have pre-set server configs that meet your requirements if you don't want to set up the server yourself. The only downside is that it's self managed but they do have managed options. Another upside is being a cloud service you can expand or downgrade the processing power, ram, space, etc on the fly and there's no contracts so you pay monthly and cut and run if you're not happy. But after using 3 different shared hosts and a managed dedicated machine elsewhere in the past I've been happy to be with them.

Amazon EC2? Setup your own server and have pretty much full control what is going on.

They have a one year Free Tier micro server so you can test how it works.

I'm happy to their performance and service. However it's more easy to understand quantum physics than their billing.

Thanks for all the suggestions I will be sure to look ad see what they have to offer. Has anyone had any experience with crucialwebhosting? They look interesting and appear to have coupon codes. Or how about hostmonster, any word on these two companies?

Just signed up with Hawkhost for a temp solution, seems like a good place after checking some reviews. With a coupon code was able to get the basic plan for $19.74 per year (50% off coupon) ! With Litespeed servers and able to choose datacenters out of around 6 locations, good alternative for shared SEO c class hosting. But dedicated IP's are expensive at $3 per month.

I sent out 6 emails to test customer service of various companies and these guys were the first and only place to reply so far. I had to send a photo image to their sales email to verify my cc though, but it was verified in half a day and server propagation was almost instantaneous as well as a working DNS after pointing to it from my domain registrar.

Another company called Hostthename told me i wasn't a registered user so my ticket wasn't even opened. huh.gif

2mhost has yet to reply after 3 days.

Been with Hawkhost for three years or so and they are great. Highly recommended. They don't oversell and overload.
