Beng Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 A while ago, there was a topic about a very ugly and massive project in the south. The link Any pics how it looks now ?
Tropicalevo Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Now open. There was an article on it in the 'paper that we cannot mention' yesterday.
itishothere Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Just seen their web site! All the villas appear to be on stilts and the resort looks like it has been taken over by something out of The War of the Worlds! Hope the vegetation grows.
southbot Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Seen it. V.V.V. Fugly indeedy do! Somebody should nuke it and it really does look like the monsters in War of The Worlds, eh? Samui really does NOT need rubbish like that wrecking what was once a beautiful coastline - shame on Conrad! Shame shame shame.
robsamui Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Yes, Conrad. PLUS - not only is it soooo ugly and a total eyesore but it is n absolute nightmare to get around in it. Everything is built vertically on the face of that hillside - I cannot image that anyone who stays there will ever want to return. R
mugwhy1 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 why cannot post links on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
islandguy Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Landscaping helped a lot, still has a 'War of the Worlds' look. In the winter there is no sand as the water comes right up to the sea wall. Big drainage channels come down the face, which is at quite a steep angle. The web site talks about their floating dock.....

You can only use it in calm seas!!! No good for six months of the year. They (illegally?) dug out all of the rocks to make a 'harbour'.
