Where To Buy Kevlar/Dacron Cord In Phuket?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can buy Kevlar or Dacron cord? The actual specification is 0.075 Kevlar/Dacron cord, or equivalent

I need about 50 metres to be used in the construction of an amateur radio antenna

Thanks - Simon

Best bet would be one of the ship's chandlers on the main airport road from the south.

Surapol opposite the entrance to boat lagoon, or failing that, Rolly Taskers.

Another HS on the air soon then eh?? hope you find the what your looking for 73s

I've actually had an HS licence and been active on HF for the last 5 years :) - this is just an antenna rebuild at my new QTH

Now when you have gotten your answer, I hope you don't mind me asking why still Amateur Radio as an hobby?

Plenty of my friends used to be amateurs (OH2xx), but after invention of IRC the hobby faded out.

Simp!e! - the internet service from ToT is so lousy that I can get more reliable long-distance communication from my radio equipment :)

Buahh :)

But seriously, is there still an active base of hobbyist out there? Communicating with old friends or what is the beef?

@oilinki - there are about 5 million radio 'hams' worldwide.

Thailand ranks quite high on the list of % of the population who are radio hams, as does Japan.

I have many friends throughout the world with whom I can chat via radio, or send them an email or text message if the radio propagation is bad sleepy.gif
