I fancy going to the Klong Thom market on Sunday morning. What would be the best route from Thong Lor ? Any one know roughly how much the taxi fare would be from Thong Lor ? Sometimes, I find as a time factor it pays to get the BTS to within your approximate vacinity then a taxi.

I take the MRT to Hua Lamphong, then it's a 10-15 minute brisk walk through Chinatown, which is a blocks-long market all by itself.

Stop at a few shops and street vendors along the way and it can be a 2 hour, enjoyable walk.

Taxi's not much more than 100 Baht all the way to to Asoke so I can't imagine it's much more to Thong Lor, but then I'd miss the rest of the market.

Get on BTS, Change to MRT from ASOK, Get Off at Hua Lam Pong. Take a tuk tuk (40 baht) or walk for about 15 mins.

Or you can get on the #40 a/c bus (yellow) along Sukhumvit (even side) and it will take you into Yaowarat: B14-16. Early on a Sunday, surprisingly quick.
