Where To See The Sunset Near Chaweng?

Featured Replies

Hi, please, where should I go, near Chaweng, to see the beautiful sunset?

Thanks :)

The sun sets on the other side of the island, so without climbing the hills, your best bet is probably up near Big Buddha.

From Big Buddha the sun is setting over the nw of the isalnd at this time of year. In a few weeks it wil be setting over the sea.

Mind you - with the current weather 'what sunsets?'

Yeah, not so good right now.... but what about headed towards the tip of the Chong Mon area, if it does clear up? or is that still hinded by them there hills?

If so probably easier / closer than headed towards Nanthon side, (from Chawang) , there have been the makings of a good sunset some days lately on west side.... usually better sunset with some clouds... but not when socked in... sad.png

January is not always the best month here for good sunsets... blink.png

Lipa noi or baan taling ngam which are located on the other side of the island.

Not Chaweng, but the end of the long pier at Bangrak, or from the little beach by the Boat Bar next door. Also from the BBC restaurant is quite good.

Just by the entrance to the Big Buddha temple there is a small bar called the "Sunset Bar",
