PATTAYA: -- The Child and Women Protection Unit, a division of Region 2 Police, arrested a Cambodian Mother of three who is accused of attempting to sell her 14 year old daughter to foreigners for 80,000 Baht.

Complaints by foreign tourists were made to the Police Unit who dedicates the majority of their time to suppressing Human Trafficking operations. The family was tracked down to a market in Soi Boekeow in Central Pattaya and when they spotted Police they attempted to escape. The father of the children was able to escape, leaving the three children and their mother, Mrs. Hieng aged 32 to face officers and the allegations made against them.

Mrs. Hieng was arrested and the three children, who also beg for money in local bar complexes, have been taken into care pending further investigations.

Another evil Cambodian. violin.gif

It would seem the streets of Pattaya were not paved in gold for this family, maybe the grass will be greener back home. (Sorry for the mixed metaphors)

i once saw a report that rich chinese liked virgins so much in cambodia, was good for business, or so they said...

Frreakin true! /i have noticed that all vices (drugs, prostitution, gambling etcc, etc) almost always have a chinese connection. It adds to y belief, from years of dealing with them, that they will do virtually anything to make an extra penny! Its the samewith the chinese regardless of where they live. SHAMELESS!

I'm slightly confused with this story.

Pattaya One News is reporting that the mother tried to sell her daughter.

Pattaya Daily News report that the step father was the one that tried to sell the girl and that the mother had asked someone to contact the Krajokngao foundation to help her.

As is usual with the local press of Pattaya the reporting is sloppy and lazy.

If the Pattaya Daily News report is correct then Pattaya One News should print an apology to the mother for accusing her of the heinous crime.

I geuss I will have to toss a coin to decide which story to believe.
