how necessary is the booster?

i went back to the clinic

got one the next day for 600 baht, he says i need one more

three days after

he also asked me about tetanus but i already had that shot too

the same time as the first rabies july 9 2011

any experts?

thanks

also there is a lot of talk lately on the

dangers of vaccines

what danger might this one pose, if any

Yes, you need a second shot, the protocol for people previously vaccinated is vaccine only (no immunoglobulin) on days 0 and 3

Main side effects of the vaccione are mild i.e. soreness/redness at the site. Very rarely, flu-like symptoms may occur for a few days.

the immunoglobulin carries a higher risk of serious side effcts but you don't need that having recently had a vaccine series.

Since rabies is 100% fatal through a slow and agonizing death, following standard medical recommendations and getting the full series of (in your particular case 2) injections should be a no-brainer.
