February 6, 201214 yr Just a quickie, wife will apply for a family visitors visa and MIL will apply for a tourist visa, question is what date does the Embassy put on the Visa if granted, is it the date of application or the date of intended travel (which obviously could change)? tks in advance
February 6, 201214 yr The visa is dated from the date of issue, and is valid for use from that date. You can apply three months ahead of your proposed travel date and request that the visa is post dated for up to three months. theoldgit

February 13, 201214 yr Author Wife went on 7th April to hand in all the required documentation. Received email today to collect both passports (hers and mother in laws), less than a week turnaround.
February 15, 201214 yr Author Both Visas granted, no agents used just followed the instructions and the lists of documentation required.
