90 Day Visa Extension In Patong?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting conflicting information about whether I have to go to Phuket Town or just get a 90 day visa stamp in Patong. I have a retirement Visa. I heard Patong isn't doing 90 day stamps anymore. Don't know why that would be. Perhaps Patong wasn't enough a profit center? mfr_closed1.gif

It's my understanding that the Patong office stopped issuing 90 day extensions quite along time ago. I think Patong office has been closed but there are some plans to open again just for 'immigration advice'.

I think the OP means address reporting. Patong was doing them up until a month or two ago (I did my second-last report there in November). I did my last report a few days ago at Phuket Town and one of the volunteers said that Patong is not currently taking reporting, but that there is a strong rumour that such service will resume at some point in time. I dare say that a certain arrogant immigration official is missing his healthy/exorbitant 'tips' from photocopying...

Yep Phuket Town only now .

Yes, that what I understand from recent Phuket Immigration communications. As far as I know when the Patong Office opens (??) they will not be able to process any functions (at all).

Can you enlighten us on those Immigration Communications and how it is that there is a select privy group? As one of the functions of the Patong Offit was to do 90 day reports. One of the most simple functions.. Didn't they have that on the window.... As to 90 day reports I only pop by a do it about once a year! Thnat is enough! BTW, they never look at you 90 day forme a Immi Exit at HKT

Read the Phuket Gazette article ---> http://www.thaivisa....fice-to-reopen/

Col Panuwat explained that the Patong Immigration Office is an information center only.

“The Patong office is only for providing information to tourists and to act as a coordination center. Any foreigners wanting to do their 90-day report, extend their visa or apply for a new visa still need to come to the Phuket Immigration Office in Phuket Town,” he added.
