Looking For A Thai School In Bang Na Area

Featured Replies

I am hoping to find a school in the Bang Na area (where we live) for my 15 year old neice. She is from up country but we would like here to come live with us. Her English is quite limited but she gets straight A's in school otherwise.

Anybody know of a school in the Bang Na area that would be appropriate? Obviously I would prefer her to go to a school with good teachers and am happy to pay for it, up to 30,000 baht per term would be fine for me.

If the school had English courses, that would be ideal but otherwise even a normal Thai school would be ok. She'll get English at home as it is the language of our house.

I'm new here so I don't have any knowledge of schools in the area.

I send my daughter to st joseph bang na on Soi bearing the cost is approx50,000 baht per year

per year or per term sorry?

My wife did her B1 - M3 education at St. Jo's. She turned out OK, sort of.

BTW - it is an all girls school, the last I heard.

Per year. The mini us is also reasonable at about 5,000 baht per year

Thanks for this. I just checked with the St Joe's. They did their entrance tests last week and will know by Monday if they will consider any other students. I think what I will do is get my neice's last report card, scan it and try to send it to St. Joes. She had straight A's (except for Phys Ed) and did go to a "good" school up country. I've been paying for her education there for years, not expensive but runs me about 70,000 baht per year including room and board. Maybe seeing that she's a very good student will help prod them along.

BTW, I understand they have an English program. Is your daughter in that one? What are your thoughts on how good the education is there?

You are correct they do have an english program but it does double the cost and they still teach english on the standard program. With the english from school and what I do at home her english is quite respectable. Also as standard when they get to seven they start to learn chinese, a very good move for any career in business for the future.
