Any decent places that show the Super Rugby? Having surveyed quite a few "sports" bars, the odd plasma and the staff that are unhelpful with any sporting related question just doesnt seem to cut the mustard.

Ideally it would be nice to be in a bar that has some atmosphere/crowd watching the games... but I guess during the day this asking too much.

Ideal island if you love football or any other northern hempisphere sport :-) But, I am from south of the equator and would like to cheer on some of my local teams!!

Any bar/cafe that has a remote chance of showing the South Africa vs New Zealand cricket series would also be a bonus - although, with the early morning starts I am guessing not many or even any options.

Thanks in advance for any comments!!

The billabong was really good for all sporting events however the old manager has now left and thai staff that are left have killed all of that which sucks!!! Check out the emerald there not bad either

Try The Office Bangrak it's run by a New Zealand guy Steve.

They are all rugby nuts that get in there and Steves a friendly guy too.

I agree. Good place for a bit o' banter when the rugby is on and they have a couple of big screens.

Mind you - any bar with gold/platinum package UBC will be able to show the Super Rugby. I believe that it is on channel 107.

Absolutely!

The Office has the back area with a projector screen for rugby and they are serious about all the Aussie games - Steve is Australian.

The front part usually shows that other sport - wossisname . . . with the round ball? - while the back concentrates on the serious stuff.

I'm not sure about being open for live broadcasts (12 hours difference??) but I remember in the past that they've shown recordings of some things on the following day.

You'll need to check.

(And when you find out - let us know!)

For "Super Rugby" live match viewing will probably only be affected by night matches in SA, day matches there should be fine and NZ & AUS matches should all be on at perfectly good drinking hours :)

Ended up in the Emerald in Bophut, was more than adequate, 2 good screens, friendly expat and very tasty guiness!!

Tried The office before trying the Emerald but it was closed, this was at 1pm, but the game started at 1.30pm so carried on to Bophut.

The only negative was that I was the only one watching the game - other than that a very nice pub!

Will try the office again, hopefully he will be open
