100,000 Baht ransom paid for stolen truck at Big C car park in South Pattaya

PATTAYA:-- A 34 year old woman’s pick-up truck was held to ransom by a friend of her Son who demanded 100,000 Baht for its return.

Khun Somsee reported the theft of her Black Toyota Vigo on 12th February with Police from Burirum Province in the North-East of Thailand after it was taken from her house. An arrest warrant was issued for Khun Atit aged 19 who contacted Khun Somsee on Sunday and arranged to meet her in the car park of Big C Supercenter in South Pattaya where she would hand over the cash and he would return the car.

She contacted Pattaya Police who surrounded the car park and watched as the money was handed over. However officers moved in too quickly and the suspect was able to escape with the pick-up and the money, after badly damaging a further vehicle as he made good his escape. A chase ensued whereby Police fired at the pick-up a number of times

Well I'm sure that was entirely necessary.. great job as usual Thai police.

the suspect was able to escape

That's a neat trick considering it was a Big C car park. Guess he wasn't following the exit signs. rolleyes.gif

A scene from police Academy?

OMB they should have use the Pattaya swat team and their Humvee, or did they?

Ha ha ha ha this is sooooo funny!!! Can the thai police get any dumber?? Ha ha ha

Hlarious. Remind me to ask the mafia to help out and not the local BiB if I ever need help.

So the suspect got away with the money. The BIB put a few bullets into the vehicle which was later found abandoned in Jomtien. What a show that must have been.

After she got the car back the owner was charged with illegal possesion of bullets?

News flash, truck and driver caught again but driver escaped again from police and police said the 100,000 baht has gone missing too. Police were all grinning with big smiles, good day! (joke)
