I thought he was huge hypocrite going by some of the info he use to give out on here with regards to police actions also he was obviously a bit power crazy or a control freak which ever 1 you want to use condolences to the family hope he gets all he deserves and does not get the option to pay his way out of it

Yes, I hope he gets all he deserves, meaning freedom if innocent, prison if guilty.

He seemed to be about the 2nd most knowledgeable guy on the car forum. Of course, his weird bragging and schizo running around putting deposits on all sorts of new cars was weird, but this?

Haha - you've thrown a spanner into the works here with who's the most knowledgeable then? MRO? TA? maybe even WS?

Surely you jest.

Woodsie888 is a Thai motoring encyclopedia, he just keeps the good stuff to himself wink.png

Ah... but there is another WS other than Woodsie. Surely you ,must know to whom I'm referring.

We all have knowledge in our own category to try and help. Kat and MRO are up to speed with the main issues on the forum. Me, ha, old stuff and USA V8's but it all adds up to helping folk. Learned lots from Kat and MRO as am sure you all have and the hands on stuff is the key to many probs that Licky, me and others have been helpful, disagreements yes but good reading to sort stuff.

Talking as a private person now and not as a mod, I think this story has too many holes and open questions to pass judgement. I sincerely hope for a thorough forensic investigation that should bring to light what really happened, and why. At this time, we can only speculate.

Although I agree with you that we can do nothing but speculate as to the ins and outs of the case I do not agree that there is not enough info to pass a certain amount of judgement.

Whether it was truly an accident or pre meditated will probably always remain unknown. Whether or not he is guilty of killing his partner and hiding the body is as far as I'm concerned open and shut.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but looking back on his attitude and arrogance as a member of this forum I have to say I'm not as surprised as others. He often bragged about his knowledge of Thai law and his friendship with high ranking members of Phuket society seemed to feature in every third post. I would say he was arrogant and deluded enough to feel he was untouchable.

That's pure speculation of course.smile.png

Yeh accident or not[and i very much doubt ''accident '' the fact that he after the death;

Instead of going to the police - he thought it would go badly for him - he put the body into a plastic bag and shoved her into a green wheelie bin and parked it in a downstairs laundry space.

Three months later, he opened the door to the laundry space and cleaned the floor in the room. He said he sprayed air freshener, but did not add anything to the bin to make the body decompose faster, even tho traces of acid have been found....?/

He really appeared to believe he was above the law,and being wealthy and arrogant, thought he would get away with this>

Obviously has hidden major issues as to why he at least didn't dipose of the evidence>><deleted>???

The oribinal police who were supposed to look into the lady's dissapearance also need to be made accountable......yeh right!!

is it really katabeachbum?

wll miss him posting his same reused pickup picture in every post

its weird according to his post he had a respectable gf/wife which he just bought a new car and bike for.. only 6months together? seems like he was a compulsive liar then

yep, just goes to show you the quality of information you get on social advertising sites like this one AND especially in a country where there is no real free speech and a culture where honesty is not exactly admired or aspired to ...but alas, that latter is a bit off topic. still, amazing how people think others are telling the truth just because they see their words in print form. Have fun in places like these but NEVER EVER trust the information you get here without verifying it...assume first it wrong or decitful rather than the opposite OR at least make them prove it if it essential to know.

I agree with your 1st statement.

I am very skeptical a thourough forensic investigation will be done and if it is done, the actual results and any evidence that does not 'suit' the local plod will be 'ignored'.

Regarding your last statement, it is also true. However, I am quite frankly disgusted and amazed at some of the comments made by people.

He is being accused of being a nutcase, retarded, psycho etc. Just from how he came across posting on TV.

Seems to me he is not the only nutcase, retard, psycho, complusive liar or whatever, here.

Human remains and a confession are not enough evidence for you?

Let's all wait for the lie detector test on Oprah....

There are some TV members for whom that will never be enough. A confession will obviously mean that he was tortured in their view. Human remains in his house will obviously be planted..

It's a never ending cycle of 'they're out to get us' paranoia.

Right, so people believe that this story has no holes? Really? Do you really believe that what has been reported in the press which is available to TV is all there is to it? I agreed with some one who said that this story is full of holes. Look at the OP. No holes? And my intelligence is being questioned?

I never said that he did not kill his ex-gf. For all I know he might have. How is it that all the P.I.s on this forum seem to have all the evidence in hand and are 100% sure that he killed the ex-gf, even when it has not even been established that it is her body decomposing it that bin.

They are sure he is a killer because he is sometimes arrogant and could be an unpleasant person? On a forum. Seriously?

In fact some people here, seem to be HAPPY that he is in the can, just because he is knowledgeable about cars and has money. Gleeful almost. Not to mention he DARED to correct and warn some one who was talking BS.

How messed up is that? It is the pot calling the kettle black. People who themselves brag about how much experience they have with racing and know what the smart thing is to do in car racing in Thailand. People who think they can pop down to the only race car manufacturer in Thailand and demand a test ride in a car and not want to pay for it. And when denied, then turn around and call the owner of that factory an arrogant asshol_e. I know the owner of that factory. He told me his side of the story.

And then ranting on about his post are scientific? GTFO! You know who you are.

And in IMO I think it would be a good idea that those who know him, have met him, whatever, pop down to the cop shop and see if they can visit him and see what he says.

All we have sofar is what what was quoted in the "paper".

I'd say that the decent thing to do is for the guy who first let the cat out the bag that the accused is KBB and knows him, go and visit him. CroBiker, I believe.

I think anyone can kill if the provocation comes at the wrong time. This can lead to a course of covering up which is probably more shocking than the original crime. I feel sorry for the deceased person's family who do not even have a proper body to mourn.

I never liked most of his posts but he will have a lot of time to reflect on them painfully if he keeps referring to his friend the judge.

Maybe because he admitted it and went through a reconstruction of what he did?

Do you think the remains belong to someone else?

Norwegian man detained for killing, hiding Thai wife's body for 3 years

PHUKET, March 1 - Thai police on Thursday detained a Norwegian man for killing his Thai wife and hiding her corpse in his home in this southern resort island for nearly three years.

Stein Harvard Dokset, 50, a former Norwegian physician, was taken to his home in the Phuket provincial seat for a re-enactment after he confessed.

Pol Col Sirisak Wasasiri said Mr Dokset said his wife, Rungnapa Ratchasombat, broke up with him, remarrying and having a child with a Thai police officer even as the spurned husband kept asking the victim for a return to the relationship.

One day the couple quarreled when the woman returned to the house. Mr Dokset pushed his ex-wife down the stairs and later found that she did not breathe, according to the police.

Col Sirisak said the detainee hid the victim's body in his home, and that police found remains believed to be human bones there.

Police said investigation is underway to determine whether the Norwegian national intended to kill his wife and dissect the body.

Ms Rungnapa was reportedly missing since July 2009. (MCOT online news)

Well, that is/was new to me. What I meant to say is that people were convinced before this came to light.

If he did it, he did it, fine.

PHUKET: Norwegian expat Stein Havard Dokset, who this afternoon was charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend Rungnapa Suktong, is already on trial for defrauding a Swedish man of more than 800,000 baht, the Phuket Gazette has learned.

Lt Col Boonlert Onklang, Deputy Superintendent at Chalong Police, told the Gazette that a formal complaint was filed with Chalong Police on August 4, 2009.

A Swedish man, who he identified only as “Jan”, filed the complaint, accusing Mr Dokset, a 50-year-old retired car dealer from Oslo, of defrauding him out of 68,000 Norwegian krone, reported at the time as valued at about 318,240 baht, Lt Col Boonlert said.

“Mr Jan said he asked Mr Dokset to look after the money because he knew Mr Dokset had a safe in his home. He also claimed he gave Mr Dokset 500,000 baht in cash to look after.

“But when the Swedish man asked for his money back, Mr Dokset said he did not have the money. Instead, he claimed that the man did not give the money to him,” he said.

However, on Tuesday – the day Mr Dokset was arrested for murder – Mr Dokset was in court to face the allegations against him.

“Two witnesses testified that Mr Jan did give the money to Mr Dokset,” Lt Col Boonlert said.

Lt Col Boonlert suggested the Gazette call Mr Jan and gave his phone number.

However, when called by the Gazette today, the man who answered the call said, “Sorry, I don’t want to say anything.”

In the raid on Mr Dokset’s luxury villa in Kata on Tuesday night, police found a small safe in the same downstairs bathroom where they discovered the grisly remains of what is believed to be the acid-burnt body of Mrs Rungnapa.

Police have yet to disclose whether or not the safe contained any money or valuables.

Can the Phuket Gazette ever get its facts straight?

First he was a car dealer and now he is a doctor.

It takes more than two years of study to become a doctor. If I can figure that out, why can't a professional reporter?

2 Years more like 5 years!!!

You've no place telling me what to do, bloke!! My posts are based on science "matie" what about you??

What science? All that is reported is coming from the BIB, they are not exactly known for their science in solving cases.

You're really losing the plot aren't you??

Had the Norwegian been the type of person to murder her, her would have done it in the 9 years they were a couple.

Wow! You're good!!.................................................. At drawing a lot of assumptions....................... Never mind though you know what they say about ASS/U/ME-ing..

Really? Some strange logic. Crimes of passion usually occur after breakups regardless as to how long couples have been together. Who knows what went down that last day. Guilty people eventually get caught because of stupidity. If dude was tortured, perhaps he would tell someone including attorney, judge or reporter on a report date. Again, just assuming he was tortured for no other reason than the assumption itself based on very little information and facts is not extremely logical either. The problem is poorly written news articles leave out a litany of details.

Just supposition, but, it would be very awkward to have all your properties in the name of someone who had left you. It says that he was trying to get back with her again.

An argument? Wonder if it had anything to do with the properties?

Phuket again!!!! What a dump!

"The policeman – who police have yet to name" ... duh .... " and assumed her policeman husband’s family name Suktong" - brilliant!

Why is Phuket a dump because some psycho killed his ex girlfriend and news articles are either poorly written or poorly translated.

One possible theory is she left her husband as he could not keep her at the level she was accustomed to with a foreigner with swimming pools and was going to go back to him. The husband lost face and killed her and blamed the foreigner for her wanting to leave and therefore framed him. He then got his buddies in the police force to threaten him with an alternative far worse than confessing if he didnt. Perhaps sticking him in some rubber tires and setting them alight for example.

This is of course just a hypothetical scenario and in no way what I believe may have happened.

Honest guv.

Buuutt he was a tough guy who was a big bike volunteer and legally owned a Glock he shouldn't have been in any concern or fear... There should have been some BiB buddies on the other side from his big bike troop who he could turn too to give him aid too couldn't there? OR maybe he was just too hot to defend once he confessed?? After all a confession is an admission of guilt equal to a plea of guilty in court..

I can't believe these "what about the smell?" posts.

A corpse will cease to "smell" after about a month in this climate. Once it has dessicated/decomposed there will only be a "smell" if you get up close to it.

About a year ago there was a stench around my house so foul that when the wind blew I thought I would gag and vomit. When we walked out the front door the smell was unimaginable. The neighbor across the street even came over one day asking if we knew where that smell was coming from as it was too much for them. We looked all over our yard, theirs, and at the house next-door which was vacant at the time but couldn't find anything. About a week later I was on the upstairs balcony one day and looked down and there it was; a huge Tokay had died and fell onto the top of the metal overhang above the carport. Not only was the smell unbelievable but the rotting corpse took off the paint, corroded the metal, and today you can look up at the metal overhang and see the sun through the tiny little holes exactly where the Tokay was.

So again, if a human corpse was rotting in a plastic trash bin in a bathroom, the smell would even be noticeable by the neighbors I think, let alone the visitors to this guy's home, some of whom have stated on this forum that they were in his house and smelled nothing. And then, the decaying corpse would rot right through the plastic bottom of the bin - especially with the acid they mentioned in the OP.

The chance that bin was in there for 2 years with a corpse inside, I think, is not possible.

How much do you want to bet that the coroner will not be able to confirm if the bones are those of the woman??? Something stinks and in this case I don't think it's the corpse!

Elektrified, I have had a similar experience with a small mouse that died in the roof space above the electrical cabinet.

The smell was unbearable. I had to cut a hole in the roof to get to the little bugger.

I just can't believe that a body in a wheelie bin, in a locked basement would not give off the worst smell possible, especially with the heat and moisture.

With 2 years to lie awake at night and think of ways to dispose of a body, I can't believe he did nothing about it.

So, he was either really stupid and lazy with bad sinuses...or the wheelie bin was not there long.

I agree 100%.

“We always suspected that she was murdered. We saw blood stains in her car when the bank came to repossess it after no payments were made since she went missing,” she added.

So how does that fit with here decomposing in the bin?

Eh? huh.png He couldn't have moved her lifeless body to the bin? He seems to be strapping enough to handle a 110lb woman to me (weight is speculation on averaging no need to lambaste).

It could also be the case that the blood is merely residue of a fight / other fight. A punch on the nose bleeds a lot but isn't lethal.

1) would a man with money be either so arrogant or stupid to remain not only in the same house but even the same country as the ex which he had murdered?

2) would this man not remove the remains after so much travel which has been widely published here?

3) why was this not reported by family, Thai husband (bib) 3 years ago?

Stupid / arrogant / stitched up?
