Thai Person With Dual Nationality

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can a Thai person with dual nationality own land in Thailand? My wife also has Australian nationality.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Without any problem.

But that she has a foreign husband means that you must sign a declaration that you don't have any claims to the land and the land is hers only.

I have heard that the wife has to prove that the money comes from her savings and not from her husband. Is that true? If let say that I (husband) send money to my wifes account in Thailand, can that money be used for buying property?

Mario2008 already stated what is needed.

Other scenarios can happen when land office workers start thinking or imagining (it really happens!) things for themselves.

Helping a little bit by directing them can't hurt.

If gently directing them fails, hire a lawyer that can overwhelm them with too much details, then they choose the easy way and that is doing what the lawyer says.

But don't forget to tell the lawyer what he has to tell the land office!
