Water Supply Rawai

Featured Replies

We have not had water from the Govt for 24 hours, we are running from our

storage tanks, does anyone else in Rawai have the same problem

In Rawai we have our own well, in Kata at the shop though we are dependent on government water as well. And the last 2 weeks it has been on and off there.

Sensible. I'd never rely on government water at home.

Also, during the drought a few years ago, the government was buying water out of the tin-mines which was green and slimy. You never know what quality water you're getting unless you have your own well.

A deep well/bore would be OK but a lot of wells here are only shallow

Its raining here at present quite a lot which has given the garden a

good soaking, first rain in 2 weeks

The govt water here is good, the worst i have had was when i lived in

Kathu close to the Bang Wad dam, regularly no supply and when it

came back on it was dirty and smelly

Here on Chao Fa West there was no water all day yesterday until about 8.30pm. Today & Saturday had good pressure but Friday water flow was negligible. I think they must be rationing the water supply now. Some people who have the normal concrete ring bores are experiencing problems with dirty water or no water. The water table must be very low by now & will take loads of rain to bring it back up. The regular supply from the government must also be getting extremely low.

It would seem a well in your area Peter wouldn't need to be very deep. You are in a low laying area. I know mine is not all that deep, but I've never come close to running low on water. My siphon pipe is probably only 10 meters long. Plus all I pay is the electric for the pump, no water bill. I did have to replace the pump once in the past six years though.

We have 2 storage tanks that fill from the govt water which hold 5300 litres

It was the rear garden we had no water for as the tap runs of the govt water

supply, We have been here for one year now and its the first time i have

noticed the water was of, it happened regularly when we lived in chalong
